Got a call from someone claiming they were from Microsoft, telling me my computer had been compromised and linked to some dodgy gambling and money laundering. They asked if I was the owner, and then told me to switch it on. When I said I don’t even use anything with a Microsoft OS, they didn’t buy it and threatened I’d be in trouble for lying. I didn’t say what system I actually use, and then they went on about “blocking my computer” (didn’t say how) and that I’d get hit with a hefty fine. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

The call kept breaking up so I rang back on my landline. A woman answered and started asking about PPI, loans, credit cards and stuff. Not sure where she got my number from, but it all felt a bit dodgy and annoying. I think I annoyed her when I told her she’d called my mobile first because she sounded quite sharp with me after that.

Got a call about PPI, told them I’m on the TPS list and asked them to take my number off. They just kept saying 'hello' and wouldn’t say which company they were from. Proper dodgy.

Got a call earlier about some card protection refund thing. The bloke said he’d send me a pack with details. I asked him who he reckoned he was talking to since he never even asked for my name. He quickly said sorry, realised he’d called the wrong number and then just hung up. Classic scammer behaviour if you ask me.

Got a call from this number, they claimed to be about PPI or something like that. The person said they would post some forms but first needed my details. They mentioned it was a no win no fee deal or they’d take 28%. Not really clear on the company name though.

Just got a call from this lot. The connection was terrible, so I kept saying hello, but the woman kept shouting, "I know you can hear me!" When I said hello once more, she told me to shut up and called me stupid. Not exactly polite, especially as the line was awful and I have trouble hearing. Honestly, she could do with learning some proper manners.

Just as I picked up the phone, the caller cut off straight away. I've seen what people are saying here and decided to block the number now. I've been registered with the TPS for ages, so it’s rare I get unwanted calls like this.

Got a call that just cut off right away, and shortly after, I got another one from a Turkish number, something like +90 830 92 50.

Got a ring from this number earlier, looked like it was from Birmingham. When I picked up, some young bloke with an English accent started going on about my PPI - which I’ve never had or claimed. Told him straight away I wasn’t interested and asked him to stop calling. He said he’d take my number off their list. Still, I’ve gone and blocked the number just to be safe. Hopefully this saves someone else a bit of hassle.

They rang me too, but I missed the call and there was no voicemail left. This is my work line, not a personal one, but I heard the person before me might have used it for private calls. Since there was no message, I won’t bother returning the call. Just ignore it, honestly.

Got a ring from this number today. I normally don’t answer calls from numbers I don’t recognise, so gave it a miss. There wasn’t any message left, so I didn’t bother returning the call.

My wife got a call from some bloke with a weird accent at around 5:55pm on 10/08/16. He kept saying she was fibbing when she told him she doesn’t own a computer. Truth is, she doesn’t, but I do.

Got a missed call on my phone earlier, saw the number was from Birmingham - that's actually where I grew up. They didn’t leave any voicemail or anything, so I’m not gonna bother calling back. Looks like from what people said before, it could be one of those dodgy calls.
