Got a call from someone claiming they were from Microsoft, telling me my computer had been compromised and linked to some dodgy gambling and money laundering. They asked if I was the owner, and then told me to switch it on. When I said I don’t even use anything with a Microsoft OS, they didn’t buy it and threatened I’d be in trouble for lying. I didn’t say what system I actually use, and then they went on about “blocking my computer” (didn’t say how) and that I’d get hit with a hefty fine. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

This morning I got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft tech support. They told me there was an issue with our computer's operating system and that it had been hacked by some malicious software.

I had a rather unpleasant experience with a phone call that got disconnected. I decided to call back from my landline, and a rather unfriendly lady answered. She started asking about payment protection insurance and whether I had any loans or credit cards. To be honest, I’m baffled as to how they even got my number in the first place. It felt quite intrusive, and when I mentioned that she had originally called my mobile, she seemed rather put out and a bit rude. Overall, not the best encounter, to say the least!

Received a PPI call today - informed the caller that I'm on the Telephone Preference Service and asked them to take my number off their list. They refused to disclose the name of their company and just kept responding with a bland "hello."

I just received a rather dodgy phone call concerning a refund for card protection. The bloke mentioned wanting to send me some informational paperwork, but he never bothered to address me by name. When I challenged him about it, he quickly apologised and claimed he'd dialed the wrong number before promptly hanging up. Classic tactics of a scammer, if you ask me!

I received a call from this number, and they mentioned something about PPI. They claimed they would send out forms, but only after gathering my details first. They offered a no win, no fee arrangement or a fee of 28%. I'm quite sceptical about it all.

I just received a rather unpleasant call from this number. The connection was dreadful, and despite my repeated attempts to say hello, the woman on the other end insisted, “I know you can hear me!” I tried to respond again, and then she snapped back, “Shut up, you silly woman, I know you can hear me!” Goodness gracious, what fantastic telephone etiquette! I struggled to make myself understood as I do have some hearing issues. It really seems that a spot of etiquette training wouldn’t go amiss for her.

I had a call from this number earlier today, sporting a Birmingham area code. When I picked up, I was greeted by a rather young chap who claimed he was inquiring about my PPI - which, I must say, I've never even entertained. I made it clear that I had no PPI and requested he refrain from calling me in the future. He assured me he'd take my number off their list. Nonetheless, I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number just to be safe. Hope my experience sheds some light for anyone else!

I got a call from that number too! Unfortunately, I wasn't around to pick up, and they didn’t bother leaving a message. It's a business line, not for personal use, but I reckon the last user might have had a different approach. I've got voicemail set up, so with no message left, I'm not going to chase it. Best to just ignore it!

Received a call from this number earlier today. As per my usual practice, I chose not to answer since it was an unfamiliar caller. There was no voicemail left, so I've decided against returning the call.

I received a call just as I was sat in the waiting room for my doctor's appointment. Without bothering to check the number, I answered the phone. But as soon as I picked up, the line went dead. Quite curious, really!

At approximately 4:55 PM on the 10th of August, 2016, a rather unpleasant gentleman with a foreign accent rang my wife. He was quite accusatory, claiming she was being deceitful when she insisted that she doesn’t own a computer. The truth is, she really doesn’t have one, although I do own one myself.

I just saw that I had a missed call on my mobile. I noted it had a Birmingham area code, which is where I hail from. They didn’t bother to leave a voicemail, so I'm not inclined to ring them back. After glancing at what someone else mentioned, it looks like this could be one of those dodgy calls.
