So, on the 1st of Dec 2018, someone called saying they were "Rob" about renewing my washing machine warranty. He already had my name and address, but it smelled like he was fishing for my bank info. Honestly, I wonder if anyone still buys into these dodgy calls?

Today, 05/01/2018, I got a call from a bloke named Joshua who wanted to chat to someone called Philip about a Hotpoint washing machine. I told him I don’t own a Hotpoint WM and I’ve no idea who this Philip chap is. Then the line just went dead. Definitely sounds like a scam to me. If anyone rings asking for your name or saying they live at your house, just hang up straight away. I tried ringing back to find out what company it was but the line was always busy! The weirdest bit? He actually knew my address, which really creeped me out.

On Monday 11/12/2017 around 15:21, I got a call from a bloke named Josh who was trying to sell me insurance for my washing machine. I thought, here we go again with these dodgy calls. When I asked how long I’d had the machine, he hesitated a bit before muttering something like “I think it’s been over five years.” Well, I’ve actually owned it for nearly 14 years now, second hand, and never insured it. He had my number, address and name, so that part was legit. Still, he sounded pretty slick and like he knew what he was doing, so watch out for this one.

The moment I answered, it began making that weird sound like I was the one calling, not the other way round. I hung up immediately, no way I’m paying for any backwards charged spam calls.

Got a call from someone saying they were sending a washing machine to my place, but I had no clue about any delivery. Before I even got a chance to ask why they had my number and address, they just hung up. The phone’s been going busy for like half an hour now. Has anyone else had this sort of call?

A bloke called Ollie claiming he was ringing about renewing insurance for my Hotpoint washing machine. I told him it wasn’t a Hotpoint and he just said alright then and hung up. I’m not sure if it was a scam or not, but I’d be careful about sharing any details, just in case it is.
