Not a Prime one this time, just another UK number. I told them I wasn’t home, normally look after my own place, and they said they’d ring again later - kind of a warning really. These calls might be clear scams to some, but for elderly people living alone, or even not, they’re at best a nuisance and at worst could cause real worry. Definitely more annoying than anything else.

Got a call from GB Handsets saying they’re upgrading the system and needed to check my info, asked for my debit card number and expiry date. The guy was really polite and spent about 15 minutes telling me how their system works and why they needed those details! I told him straight up I wasn’t giving out my card info and we both decided to hang up.

I've received a slew of calls from this number over the past week, often getting two in a single day-once in the morning and again just after five in the afternoon. They rang me again today, and while it's usually silent on the other end, I distinctly heard a woman speaking this time. It’s becoming rather bothersome, and I can’t shake the feeling that it might be some sort of scam. I'm really thankful for this site keeping track of it all.

Had a ring earlier from someone claiming they could block all nuisance calls. I asked if that included overseas calls and he lied, said yes. Then he asked if my debit card expired 11/22 so I just said yeah to keep it going. Next, he wanted my full card number “just for reference.” I made up some random digits, and every time he read it out, I changed a few numbers. He kept saying they were wrong. Eventually, he just ended the call.

Got a call from someone saying they were from GB Handsets Ltd, but I couldnt find any info about that company on the Companies House site. They said they could stop all unwanted calls, even from overseas. When I asked who would be footing the bill, they said it was free, but then tried to get me to confirm my credit card info! I kept getting some annoying calls, then this bloke with an Indian accent called from UK Handsets. He told me I was on some list and said he’d take my number off it. He asked the same stuff over and over - like my name, address, phone number, and even when my debit card expires. I told him no thanks and he just ended the call.

I picked up the phone and a person speaking with an Asian accent started telling me that I’d be glad to know all those annoying calls to my line were now blocked. When they asked me for my postcode, I just said cheers and hung up straight away. These lot are dodgy scammers looking to get hold of your bank info. They really should be tracked down and punished. BT really ought to shut down this number.

Received a dodgy call - I hung up, but they persisted and called again, attempting to extract the expiration date of my bank card. They claimed it was related to a direct debit for my phone bill. When I pointed out that a direct debit doesn’t involve a bank card at all, the caller abruptly cut off the line. Stay alert, folks!

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming he could stop me from getting scam calls. He asked for my full name, address, and post code, then checked that I pay my phone bill by direct debit. After that, he tried to get the expiry date from my debit card. When I asked him which company I pay my phone provider, he just said it wasn’t important. As soon as I said it does matter if he’s after bank details, he ended the call. Definitely a scam, but way slicker than the usual ones.

They rang me saying since my debit card was about to expire, they had to check my phone direct debit would still go through. Pretty sure it was a scam though, as direct debits don’t even depend on your card details. Ended up just hanging up on them.
