I was busy so I didn’t pick up. When I checked the number, I couldn’t find any unresolved HMRC matters connected to it, so I’m thinking it’s probably a scam. Plus, they didn’t leave a voicemail, which is odd if it was really from them.

Got a call today from someone saying they were collecting on behalf of the tax authorities, telling me I owed income tax to HMRC and threatening jail time if I didn’t pay up. Seemed pretty dodgy to me.
