A chap rang me purporting to be from BT, and I could tell right off he had an Indian accent. He was incredibly persuasive, going on about some supposed fraud related to my landline, insisting I wouldn’t have a clue about it. Apparently, it was international fraud, no less! They insisted I should get my computer or phone fired up so they could guide me through the necessary steps. When I requested they send me something in writing to back up their claims, he dismissed me with an air of arrogance and ended the call. Definitely a scam looking to get hold of your banking information through your devices!
