Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT, saying there had been a hacking attempt on my internet from the US. They told me to get on my computer and open Google so they could show me how to stop the attack. I suspected it was a scam, so I asked them to send an email instead - haven't heard anything back yet.

There was this odd pause, then a woman’s voice came on the line just sayin’ "goodbye" before the caller hung up. When I tried calling that number back, it played a recorded message telling me to ring a ridiculously expensive phone line for some “live chat” thing. They even mentioned the price, like 60p a minute or something, maybe to make it seem legit? I chickened out and never actually tried it.

Got a call with no sound at all, so I rang back and they ended up trying to push me towards some phone s#x service. Seriously, what’s that about?
