I've been inundated with calls throughout the day where they're spouting off about “matters relating to HMRC.” Oddly enough, they seem to forget to mention who they represent over nine times out of ten! What's more, they outright deny answering any questions unless they can speak to someone they consider 'important.' Quite clearly, they’re not affiliated with HMRC at all. It’s just a tactic to intimidate folks into engaging with them. Ridiculous, isn't it?

I rang the number and they had my details. Strangely, they didn’t bother to mention their company’s name. It feels like they're just trying to push the idea that it’s all quite legitimate. Honestly, it smacks of dodgy business tactics, if you ask me.

Received a call attempting to peddle some kind of account services. They were rather impolite, to say the least. Best not to engage with them!

I received a couple of calls from what claims to be a leading firm in the UK that assists with HMRC claims. It was rather peculiar; when I mentioned to the caller that I had already spoken with someone yesterday, they abruptly hung up on me. As I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, I’ll be lodging a complaint regarding both numbers that reached out to me.
