I got three calls today from a number that said they were Ofcom, threatening to disconnect my broadband if I didn't upgrade to a faster speed. I rang Virgin Media after noticing the number started with 0121 603, which I think is one of their prefixes. They couldn't care less about it though.

They say they’re from Ofcom and that they want to improve your broadband speeds. They might try to get you to ring a costly premium number. Just don’t answer or call back.

They rang me at about 10:20 but I didn’t get to pick up quick enough. Instead of sticking around for the nonsense they probably wanted to peddle, I just ended the call. Also, the line was pretty fuzzy, not great quality at all.

Got a recorded call twice today, once at 8.50am and again early at 7.30. The message claimed it was from ifcom and mentioned something about my internet speed.

I got a call claiming to be from BT, telling me there’s an important update about my internet and I should stay on the line to talk to an agent. They warned that if I hung up, my connection would be cut off. Since I’m not even a BT customer, I reckon it’s gotta be a scam.
