Received a recorded message claiming to be from Amazon, saying my credit card was being charged £500 for a purchase I never made (as I don't even have an account with them). It urged me to press 1 to talk to someone. The number was 01215233052. Quite alarming!

Just like Ann Harrison, I too received a rather dubious call from this number. The caller asserted that my supposed Call Blocking service was close to expiry and urgently required renewal. I promptly informed him that I didn’t even possess such a service. However, he, sounding like he hailed from either India or Pakistan, persisted, claiming I did indeed have it and that failure to renew would result in an influx of scam calls. I pointed out that I was already inundated with scam calls, yet he remained relentless! Thankfully, I'm not easily fooled by such tactics and have already reported the incident to the ICO. Discovering this site and Ann's account truly validated my gut feeling. So, take heed everyone! - caller: Call Blocking Service

Received a call from someone claiming to represent the phone blocking service, so I decided to entertain the conversation. They asked for my sort code, account details, full name, and date of birth. It seemed like I was handed off to someone else in their hierarchy on three separate occasions. Strangely enough, they mentioned that since I had previously been a loyal customer, they were keen to offer me a 50% discount on the renewal today. The deal was set at a one-time fee of £200, followed by monthly payments of £20. The caller identified themselves as being from the phone blocking service.
