Got two calls within 30 minutes earlier today, the second was definitely from this number claiming to be BT Openreach. They said their system showed my broadband was slow. Thing is, I don’t even have BT stuff, told them that but they insisted Vodafone and EE customers get this too. Could be legit but this seems like a different scam to the HMRC one people mentioned, so thought I’d flag it up.

Got a call from this number on my home phone, and a woman with an Asian accent asked for me by name. She said she was ringing to let me know I wouldn't get any more cold calls. But just as she started saying I needed to do something, I cut her off and asked why she was ringing me now if that was the case, and told her not to call again (probably not the nicest way I said it).

Just got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming there was an issue with my internet. Right away, I told him I was at work and asked why he was calling. Of course, he started his usual routine about my internet being faulty and needing access to my PC. I told him to get in touch with our IT team if there’s a problem. He then asked if it was a business number, and I said yes, as I already mentioned at the start. Unsurprisingly, he hung up. Don’t waste your time with these calls. I reckon keep a whistle by the phone and give a good blow down the receiver!

Got a recorded message from them claiming to be sympathetic about a crash I had, and I wasn't at fault. I stayed quiet and since it was an automated call, it just ended. I've blocked the number now. With GDPR rules, they really shouldn't be calling me anymore. If you manage to talk to someone, give them a shout about GDPR and watch how fast they want to end the chat. They’re supposed to tell you where they got your details from these days.

I got a SCAM call from these numbers (0208629590 and 01213893465). Seems like they mostly go after foreigners like immigrants and students. Just a heads up, if you’re legally here in the UK, don’t stress, just hang up. I actually lost a lot of money today but when they asked me for a second payment, I realised something’s off and stopped it just in time. If you ever get calls like this, don’t keep it to yourself. There’s no shame in sharing it, it might warn others. Don’t wait till it happens to you, learn from others’ experiences.

Got a call from a guy with a really thick accent claiming to be from HMRC, said I had a tax refund of £1266. When I asked for some proof, he just ended the call straight away. Definitely a scam, HMRC never shares sensitive stuff over the phone, they always use mail.

I just got a call from a man with an Indian accent, wanting to buy parts for my 1 series BMW I put up on Gumtree. He asked for my postcode, so I gave him the one for the town centre, which is about 2 miles away from me. When I tried to ring him back to check if he knew the price, his number came up as unknown. I looked it up online and it turns out it’s a spam caller. It really annoys me, and honestly, phone companies ought to do something to block these calls once and for all.

Just got a call from an Asian chap saying my laptop had a Windows virus. I told him I use a Mac, so that’s not an issue. Then he claimed I must be running Windows on a partition with Bootcamp - which is actually true! When I said I didn’t want any help, he called me a liar and insisted he was trying to assist. Then he threatened to block my laptop so I couldn’t use it anymore. Whether he can or not, it’s a terrible way to kick off the morning :-(

My voicemail told me I had a message even though my phone never rang. Got a call from an Asian guy today who was rattling off an old address like it was still ours. Hey! I was chatting with a friend just now when this 0121 number popped up on my phone. What’s weird is I also got a call from a Philippines number +63 916 553 3632 recently. Seems like they’re pulling these digits from fake job listings online. It’s pretty annoying, but there’s not much you can do. I usually just ignore any numbers I don’t recognise anyway.

Got called again by some woman who couldn't even get my name right from the list. She kept saying "Is xxxxxxx there?" Nah, definitely not. Blocked the number straight away.

Got a call earlier saying there was an issue with my windows. I pretended to be interested just to mess about with him. Mentioned I already knew about it and asked when someone could come fix it. Got a call today, 7-12-2017, from 01213893465. The bloke said he was from the Microsoft Windows support crew. Claimed his name was David Parker, which sounded a bit dodgy if you ask me. Told him to jog on - wasn’t having any of it! Haha. Seriously, don’t ever share your info with these lot, people.

Got a call from 0121 389 3645. They already knew my name and then rattled off my postcode, asking me to confirm it. I asked who was calling, but they just kept repeating the postcode question. When I pressed again for their identity, the woman said "just keep asking". Seriously rude! They rang my mobile, so I'm well within my rights to ask who it is. Definitely seems like a scam, so watch out!

Got a call at 10:02 on 05/12/17 - I usually ignore calls from unknown numbers or ones not saved in my contacts. If it really matters, they’ll leave a voicemail and I can ring back later. So, I didn’t pick up this time. Seems like quite a few others have had terrible run-ins with this caller. Honestly, best thing is just to let it ring out. They can’t pull off their dodgy schemes if no one picks up.

Just like others have said, some Asian bloke called saying he was from Nationwide. He knew my name and postcode and even said I was between 40-80 years old (which is a weird thing to mention). When I told him I don't have an account with Nationwide, he asked if I was happy with my bank, so I just said no thanks and ended the call. Gonna block the number now.

Seemed like a call centre, the person spoke with a South Asian accent (maybe Indian/Pakistani/Sri Lankan or something similar) and said they were ringing from Nationwide. They wanted me to confirm if the postcode they had matched my address. I said it wasn’t, then they asked what my actual postcode was. I asked why they needed it, and then they just said thanks and hung up.

Really sounded like one of those call centres from India. A lady with an Asian accent double checked if she had the right person, read out my postcode and asked if that was right, then she asked if I was between 40 and 80 years old.
