Someone called me earlier asking if I was the homeowner and if I was interested in getting solar panels installed. Bit random, but they seemed pretty keen on selling me the idea.

Eventually, I had to just cut him off because he wouldn’t listen. I can’t imagine how annoying this would be for someone who actually needs one of those devices.

When I answered, all I could hear was quiet at first, then a bloke called ‘Sam’ started talking. He kept pausing like he was chewing or something, kept stopping halfway through what he was saying. I asked him to go on a few times but eventually just said I wasn’t interested in an SOS pendant and ended the call. Didn’t even cross my mind that it could’ve been some sort of automated message reacting to what I said.

Got a call from some bloke saying he worked in healthcare. He quickly tried to push a personal alert pendant on me. When I asked for his company info, he just dodged it and refused to share any details.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with the SOS red button firm in Dorset, but the number was actually from Birmingham. Most of the convo sounded like it was done by a robot, kept repeating the same script if you tried to answer anything. They mentioned following rules about vulnerable folks and said I was on a list of older people with health issues, which is totally not true. Just want to warn everyone since they pretend to be with the local health service, which might trick some into thinking they're legit when it's really just a dodgy scam.
