some bloke with a foreign accent rang saying he was from bt, claiming my router was putting my internet at risk. i get these calls regularly but they've started using a different phone number lately. don’t trust them for a second, they’re definitely not from bt. they’ll try to convince you to give them remote access to your computer “to fix the issue”. once they’re in, they encrypt all your files and then demand a huge payment to unlock them. absolute scam, stay well clear of these con artists!!!

A bloke with a foreign accent claimed to be with BT, saying my router was putting the internet at risk. I get calls like this all the time but this time they used a new number. Don’t trust them, they’re not actually from BT. Their goal is to trick you into giving them remote access to your computer so they can “fix” the issue. Once they’re in, they’ll lock all your files and demand an outrageous fee to unlock them. It’s a total scam, don’t let them fool you!
