I decided to say I was with the police, and the moment I mentioned that, they just ended the call. Total scam - don’t ever give them any of your details!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from a company but never said who or which one. They asked if I recalled an accident that supposedly happened ages ago but wouldn’t give any specifics. I just hung up on them.

I normally don’t pick up if I don’t recognise the number, unless I’m in the mood to mess with an annoying telemarketer for fun. A while back I answered a call from this number and it turned out to be one of those dodgy motor insurance scams. Now I’m getting loads of calls like that all this week (late June 2020), which is pretty annoying.

Someone called me claiming I’d been in an accident last year, but when I asked for details like when or where, they just couldn’t give me an answer. Then I questioned how they even got my number, but they refused to tell me. Suddenly they started swearing at me and just cut the call off.

Had a bit of a row with someone pretending to be from PayPal, and right in the middle of it all, I started getting loads of dodgy calls from different numbers. Feels like someone working at PayPal leaked my info, they must have instant access or something. I’m sure the Gumtree calls and that accident insurance nonsense are just different angles. It’s definitely PayPal behind all this, that’s why they seem to know stuff about me and can even peek into your phone. Trust me, it’s not official, it’s gotta be PayPal.

I'm pretty sure someone inside PayPal has access to the details, no doubt about it. I'd bet my bottom dollar the Gumtree thing is just one way they're doing it. I'm pretty sure this is linked to PayPal. I was having a bit of a tiff with someone claiming to be from their support team and suddenly loads of suspicious calls started showing up from unfamiliar numbers. Seems like someone working at PayPal might have shared my details or something, cos all these dodgy numbers popped up right after. Feels like an inside job to me, if you ask!

I reckon this is linked to PayPal somehow. Had a scrap with someone claiming to be from PayPal customer service, and right amidst that, ended up getting bombarded with loads of dodgy numbers. Got a handful of different ones popping up. Pretty sure it’s someone inside PayPal leaking details, you know? I’m convinced the Gumtree thing is just one of the ways they funnel it through. They claimed I’d been in an accident within the past three years and that I had between three and nine thousand quid in their accounts. When I asked for more info that they ought to have, they suddenly snapped at me, saying, “Listen, don’t waste my time, mate.” Proper dodgy, definitely avoid sharing any details with them.

I can’t quite remember the bloke’s name, but he kept ringing no matter what. Told him I was tied up and still he phoned me back at least three times.
