Total scam! This bloke claimed he was ringing from Three, which is who I get my mobile from. I just muted my phone and ignored him, and after about half a minute with no reply from me, he cut the call.

Got a call from someone saying they were from my mobile company, EE, which I’m not even a customer of. They then asked which provider I use. I just ended the call, blocked the number straight away, and later checked online - turns out loads of others got the same fishy calls. Definitely a scam.

Got a call on my work phone from EE saying they could give me 40% off. They wanted to know how much I was paying but I wasn’t really sure since it’s a work phone. Then they asked for my personal mobile number, which is with Tesco. After that, they said they could slash 40% off my Tesco bill. The woman actually said “are you f****** messing with me?” Sounded totally dodgy. Definitely a scam, so don’t share any details if this number rings you!

Got a call supposedly from EE saying I could get 40% off my next bill. They wanted to know how much I usually pay by direct debit. When I didn’t reply straight away, they asked for my email. I gave it but then felt a bit iffy about the whole thing, so I ended the call and blocked the number.

Caller hung up when answered; hence, AUTO CALL, seeing if someone would pick up. Your number is then shortlisted for a follow-up call, this time by a real person. If you answer it, you will be in DANGER of being scammed by a professional scammer, with a convincing fake story of why you should do as they ask. Hence, a loss of money from your bank account is most likely - WARNING - If anyone wants to talk to you, they will leave a message. Make sure your answering machine is working and you will never miss a genuine call. Any calls you don’t know, never answer them or call them back. If you are unsure, ask family members for help - SCAMMERS are looking for vulnerable people/victims - You don’t know who is calling you; if you do not recognise the number, DON’T ANSWER IT - let them leave a message on your answering machine.

Got a couple of calls back to back from someone speaking with an Asian accent. The first one was just dead silence, then the second had this weird buzzing sound before the person asked, "can you hear me?" He claimed he was phoning from Three, my phone company, but it didn’t sound right so I just ended the call. How come this kind of thing is even allowed?

I got a call from this number and because I’d just fallen for a Tesco Mobile scam not long ago, I was pretty wary straight away. I told the guy to hang on while I quickly searched the number on this website. When I read out that it was marked as a scam, he turned really rude and started cursing at me. Needless to say, I’ve blocked the number now.

I had a call from someone claiming to be with 3, saying I’d been chosen for a special deal on my phone number. They even read out the last three digits to sound legit. I kept saying I wasn’t interested, but the guy just kept going, getting annoyed because I didn’t want the new iPhone model. He insisted it wasn’t a pushy sale and said he’d keep calling me. In the end, I calmly told him I’d let him get on with his day and that I was ending the call.
