This number keeps ringing me non stop. Sometimes it's some window replacement firm trying to sell discounted stuff, other times it's a solar panel outfit with offers too. Fed up now, so I've gone and blocked it.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with a solar business, checking if I still lived at my address. When I asked them to tell me my name, they couldn’t give it, which was a dead giveaway. I just told them straight, “This sounds dodgy, bye” and hung up. We’re signed up with the TPS and our number isn’t listed anywhere, but clearly it doesn’t stop these calls.

Got a call from someone who claimed his name was Alex. The last time this number popped up, it was for a dodgy home insulation scheme. This time, he said it was about a government scheme to help folks behind on bills. When I asked him questions, he kept saying he was ‘new to the role’ and couldn’t really give me straight answers. Then he said if I answered all his questions, his manager would ring me back to answer mine. He wasn’t rude or anything, but honestly, I’m pretty sure it’s just another scam.

I received a call on my home phone, which then diverted to my mobile since it was left unanswered. The caller stated that, as someone over the age of 50, I was eligible for a complimentary emergency alert necklace. However, they mentioned that while the necklace itself is ostensibly free, you need to pay for the call service. I found it a bit dubious, so I hung up and have now blocked the number.

Got a call from someone about a medical alert bracket. I answered a few questions but quickly lost interest and just ended the call. Felt like another one of those scams, even though at first it sounded pretty convincing. Just the usual rubbish, really.

I got a call from some guy named John claiming to be from a medical alert monitoring centre, supposedly in Dorset. Thing is, the number he rang from was actually a Birmingham one, and just the day before he used a different number with an Aberystwyth code, 01970 607650. He sounded pretty polite and professional, so watch out for this one!

So there’s this company called Driveway Centre, they’re out of Southampton but apparently have branches all over the UK. They’ve been ringing me quite a bit trying to sell driveway resurfacing, but each call comes from a different phone number. When I told them I’m on the phone preference list, they just ended the call. One of the numbers they keep using is 01603851293. Bit annoying really.
