I got a call from a bloke speaking English who said he was conducting a government survey about the rising cost of living. I decided to listen for a bit. Anyone who calls should say who they are before I bother answering so it just shows their number on my phone. Seems like this ‘john’ is tied up in loads of dodgy deals. They even sent stuff to my house with scammy stuff and once a stranger came knocking for some other con. Best to just block all unknown numbers and never open the door or pick up for people you don’t know. Make sure to report them so hopefully the police catch them soon.

So this "John" from something like “the driveway centre” has rung me up four times now, twice just this morning. He kept saying we had some work due on our driveway, which is nonsense. After the first call, I told him straight up I wasn’t interested, but he was back a couple of hours later. I was a bit more blunt with him the second time. I’ve been on the telephone preference service for yonks, but clearly it hasn’t stopped this lot bothering me. Proper waste of time!
