I said hello a couple of times but all I got in reply was some robotic voice saying goodbye... and this was on a landline too.

I said hello a few times but no one picked up. Then suddenly an automated voice came on and said 'goodbye'. I searched the number and everywhere it said it's a scam. Seems like it's often linked to 'Windows' or 'IT' stuff.

I wasn’t home when my lad picked up the phone. A bloke said he was with Windows and told him to download some thing called Showmypc, which he went ahead and did! We had been waiting for an engineer because TalkTalkTV had been playing up, so my son assumed it was that. He’s removed it now, but who knows what might’ve happened!
