Even though I tried greeting them with 'hello' not once, but twice, all I received in return was a robotic voice bidding me farewell. This occurred on a traditional landline, mind you!

I repeatedly said "hello" three times, but there was no response at all. Then, an automated voice chimed in with a rather abrupt "goodbye." I did some digging on the number and found that nearly everyone is reporting the same experience-it’s evidently a scam. They often claim to be linked to "Windows" or “IT support.” It's rather dodgy, to say the least!

While I was out, my son picked up a call from someone claiming to be from Windows. They asked him to download this program called Showmypc, which he did without a second thought! We were waiting for an engineer regarding issues with TalkTalkTV, so he assumed it was related. Thankfully, he has removed it now, but it’s a bit unsettling to think about what might have happened!
