I've previously received unwanted calls from this number, claiming to inquire about an accident that I’ve never been involved in! Every time these callers ring me up, I can’t help but express my utter admiration for their persistence. I often feign utter astonishment and ask how on earth they knew I’d been in an accident just the other day. It’s quite a performance, really! I go on to weave an elaborate tale about how I might be unable to walk again due to this so-called incident-completely fabricated, of course. I tell them I was struck by vehicles no fewer than fifteen times last year! It’s marvellous fun to keep them chatting; after all, it’s their phone charges that rack up, not mine! My record for keeping one on the line was a delightful 15 minutes last year. They truly brighten my day with their sheer ridiculousness, bless them. When I’ve had my fill, I simply say my goodbyes and hang up!

Got a call from an Asian lady around 7.45pm asking if I’d been in any accidents in the past couple years. I jokingly asked her if she had, then she just hung up on me. I’m thinking I’ll stick to the self-fatality line next time!

Some bloke with a heavy Asian accent rang me at midday from a noisy place, loads of background noise, but he was talking to my fax machine line. When he realised it wasn’t working, I just let him hang up. I called 1471 to find out his number and then searched it online - that’s why I’m posting here. Folks like that really ought to be stopped!

Today, I received a rather unsolicited call from 01212840895, which is quite frustrating, especially since my number is ex-directory and I’m signed up to the Telephone Preference Service. The person on the other end seemed to be of Asian descent and inquired about a supposed accident I’d had recently. I carried on the conversation for a bit, voicing my opinions regarding cold callers like him, and even attempted to explain the Preference Service. Unfortunately, he wasn’t at all interested and abruptly ended the call. This isn’t my first encounter with such calls; being a Virgin Media customer means I have no means of blocking the number.

Got a call today at around 2.24pm from a man with an Asian accent claiming to be from the National Accident Helpline or something similar - couldn’t really catch it properly as there was a lot of noise in the background. He said it was about a car crash I was supposedly involved in. Thing is, I don’t even own a car, so obviously no accident. Then out of nowhere, he just hung up on me.

Got a call from an Indian woman saying it was about my accident, and she asked if I'd been in an accident over the past couple of years - which I hadn't. I handled it like I usually do: just left the phone sitting on my desk and let her keep saying "hello?" for about ten minutes.

There was this Asian voice in the background, I could hear it clearly. After I said, “if you don’t pick up in 3 seconds, I’m hanging up,” the guy said they were ringing to tell me I’d been in a car accident in the past 3 years. I replied, “yeah, I was in one alright, but sadly I died straight away.” He then asked how he was talking to me if I was dead, and I answered, “must be my psychic hotline, so you’re dealing with the supernatural now.” He kinda muttered something and then just ended the call.

Whenever I get those accident calls, I just say "Couldn’t you have waited until the funeral was over?" and that usually makes them stop bothering me straight away!

Proper annoyed when this lot rang me up. Got tricked into handing over info and then they kept asking loads about whether I’d been hurt. Asked to speak with their manager, who just kept saying they was with the insurance firm. Told him I’d put in a complaint and he just hung up on me!!

On the 15th of December at 10:43, I received a call from this number. The caller had a strong accent and claimed they were contacting me regarding an accident. I promptly responded that I hadn’t been in any sort of accident. The caller insisted that a family member must have had an accident. To which I firmly replied that they were clearly trying to con me. He didn't take well to that and told me to shove off!

Got a call from this number around 7:15 pm asking if we'd been in some kind of crash. My missus had been called at work by someone similar earlier, so she clocked it was a con straight away. She just kept saying "yes" over and over. Once they understood she'd caught on, they started saying really rude things to her till she cut them off.

This number seems to ring me on a frequent basis. When I happen to pick up, I’m met with nothing but silence, followed by an engaged tone. If I’m out and it reaches my answering machine, it just keeps recording for ages, preventing me from accessing any further messages. It’s become an absolute annoyance and it really ought to be dealt with.

Received a call today at exactly 15:18, and the person on the other end inquired if I’d been involved in an accident. When I replied negatively and attempted to end the conversation, they abruptly disconnected. The accent was thick, making it quite challenging to grasp their words initially! I'm listed as ex-directory; how on earth do they manage to obtain my number? Is it just a matter of luck?
