Got a call from someone claiming to be a call blocking company, saying I had to renew some registration my wife supposedly did. This number has rang me a few times before, claiming to be about some accident I supposedly had - which I definitely haven’t. Every time one of these calls comes through, I like to pretend they’re some kind of genius, saying things like, “Wow, how did you find out I had a crash just yesterday?” I act completely shocked and then spin a wild tale about maybe never walking again because of it (totally made up, of course). Sometimes I even mention getting run over loads of times last year, just to keep them chatting. It’s their call, not mine, so I don’t mind using up their minutes. I once kept one on the line for 15 minutes! They really do brighten up my day, these mugs. When it’s too much though, I just hang up.

Got a call around 5.45pm from a woman with a strong Asian accent saying her name was Robin and she was ringing about a crash I’d supposedly been in. Some bloke with a heavy Asian accent rang me at midday from a noisy place, loads of background noise, but he was talking to my fax machine line. When he realised it wasn’t working, I just let him hang up. I called 1471 to find out his number and then searched it online - that’s why I’m posting here. Folks like that really ought to be stopped!

Got a call from a guy named John, sounded Indian with a strong accent, talking about some accident I supposedly had. When I asked for details, he just ended the call.

Today I got a call from 01212840895 even though my number is ex-directory and I've signed up to the telephone preference service. The voice on the other end sounded Asian, and he wanted to talk about a supposed recent accident. I kept him on the line a bit, letting him know exactly what I thought about him and others like him. I even tried telling him about the telephone preference service but he just wasn’t interested and ended the call. I've had similar calls before, but being with Virgin Media means I can’t block the number, which is really frustrating.

Got a call today at around 2.24pm from a man with an Asian accent claiming to be from the National Accident Helpline or something similar - couldn’t really catch it properly as there was a lot of noise in the background. He said it was about a car crash I was supposedly involved in. Thing is, I don’t even own a car, so obviously no accident. Then out of nowhere, he just hung up on me.

Got a call from an Indian woman saying it was about my accident, and she asked if I'd been in an accident over the past couple of years - which I hadn't. I handled it like I usually do: just left the phone sitting on my desk and let her keep saying "hello?" for about ten minutes.

There was this Asian voice in the background, I could hear it clearly. After I said, “if you don’t pick up in 3 seconds, I’m hanging up,” the guy said they were ringing to tell me I’d been in a car accident in the past 3 years. I replied, “yeah, I was in one alright, but sadly I died straight away.” He then asked how he was talking to me if I was dead, and I answered, “must be my psychic hotline, so you’re dealing with the supernatural now.” He kinda muttered something and then just ended the call.

I got a call from this number claiming there was an accident. Told them straight away we’re on the TPS list - had no time for their nonsense!

Whenever I get those accident calls, I just say "Couldn’t you have waited until the funeral was over?" and that usually makes them stop bothering me straight away!

Proper annoyed when this lot rang me up. Got tricked into handing over info and then they kept asking loads about whether I’d been hurt. Asked to speak with their manager, who just kept saying they was with the insurance firm. Told him I’d put in a complaint and he just hung up on me!!

Got a call from this number on the 15th of Dec at 10.43am, the caller spoke with a strong accent and claimed it was regarding an accident. I told them I hadn’t been in one. Then they said it was someone in my family, but I just called it a scam. They ended up telling me to f*** off!

Got a call from this number around 7:15 pm asking if we'd been in some kind of crash. My missus had been called at work by someone similar earlier, so she clocked it was a con straight away. She just kept saying "yes" over and over. Once they understood she'd caught on, they started saying really rude things to her till she cut them off.

I keep getting calls from this number all the time. Whenever I pick up, nobody says anything and then it just goes busy on me. If I’m out and it goes to voicemail, it keeps recording for ages, making it hard for me to hear other messages after. It’s really annoying and hope it stops soon.

Somebody called me sayin they were from Accident Breakdown or smth, asked how I was doin then just dropped the call before I could answer.

Got a call from this number today about 3:18 pm, they asked if I'd been in any kind of accident. I said no and tried to end the call, then they just dropped the line. The person had a really thick accent, was hard to catch what they were saying initially! I'm unlisted, so how on earth are they getting these numbers? Do they just pick them randomly or what?
