Spoke with BT about this, but turns out the number’s bogus. They said they’ll put it on their blacklist, so BT customers who use Call Protect or things like that should be shielded, but they can’t actually switch off the number since it’s not the genuine one the calls are coming from. Most likely, calls are actually coming from overseas. It’s such a shame that our phone system lets folk spoof the caller ID like that!!

I received a call from someone claiming to be Michael, who had an Asian accent. He mentioned a computer issue. Please be aware that this is a well-known scam. Do not open any files or give anyone control over your computer. They will deliberately infect it with a virus and the costs to fix it could be substantial. Stay vigilant and do not fall for these fraudulent attempts.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from Windows support. He said I wouldn't be able to access my emails if I didn’t listen to him. When I told him to hang up ’cause he was clearly a scammer, he started getting really rude. Honestly, it’s no surprise some folks get suspicious when loads of scammers seem to be from certain backgrounds.

Earlier tonight, I received a phone call from the aforementioned number. However, when I picked up, there was no sound at all. Then, all I heard was a quick "Goodbye." I am puzzled by the purpose of this call. Immediately after, I decided to look it up online. Moving forward, I do not plan on answering any calls from this particular caller anymore.

Complete con. They said they worked alongside the cops and hundreds of insurance firms. Got quite nasty with me and slammed the phone down when I requested a manager. Told them I hadn't been in an accident, and they accused me of breaking the law and voiding my insurance just for saying that. My insurance provider had never heard of them. Never share any personal info with these people.

Got a call from an Asian woman. My partner picked up when I was out and had no clue what she was on about. Seen those notes about car crash claims and found them quite interesting. Haven’t had one of these calls for ages. Funny enough, after nearly five decades of driving, I’m actually sorting out an insurance claim right now for a tiny scratch I put on my car. No other vehicles or injuries involved. Makes me wonder if someone on the inside at my insurance firm is tipping off these callers?

Whilst I was out, an Asian woman phoned, but my partner couldn't understand her due to his poor hearing. There have been reports circulating about this being a possible accident scam. It's been months since we last received calls of this nature. Strangely enough, after 47 years of driving without incident, I now find myself in contact with my insurance company for the first time, regarding the claim for the damage I caused to my car. There were no other vehicles involved and thankfully, no personal injuries. I can't help but wonder if there's someone within the company I'm dealing with who might have insider knowledge. It's worth mentioning that we have also registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS).

Someone with an Indian accent just rang me up about an “accident” claim. Since this was their third call, I made it very clear they’re not welcome. I reported them to the TPS, who traced the number back to SLATER & GORDON (UK) LLP. The caller claimed to be from the Accident Investigation Bureau. If anyone can prove a clear tie between this bureau and SLATER & GORDON (UK) LLP, it should be reported to the Law Society - they have way more power than the TPS and might finally stop this rubbish. Could be worth trying, I reckon.

I received a phone call this evening on my ex-directory and TPS-registered landline number. The call came from a supposedly Birmingham-based number. The person on the other end had a very strong Asian accent and was talking about a recent accident. However, my accident occurred back in 2012 and has already been settled. To deter the caller, I decided to activate the personal attack alarm on my phone during the call. I hope this conveyed my message effectively and made them think twice about bothering me again. Perhaps it also caused them some temporary deafness in the process!

Today at 12:23, I received a phone call informing my wife and me about an alleged recent accident. When my wife denied this, the caller persisted and even became disrespectful by addressing her as "darling." Concerned, I intervened and explained that I wasn't happy with his behaviour. I firmly insisted on speaking to his manager and pressed him for immediate clarification. To my surprise, he arrogantly changed his tone, pretending to be the manager. Having little patience for his deceit, I promptly informed him that we were registered with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) to avoid such nuisance calls and that he had no legitimate reason to possess our number. In response, the rude caller abruptly ended the call.

A bloke calling himself "Dave" rang me - but sounded very much like he wasn’t from around here. He claimed someone at this number had an accident in the past two years. Even after telling him to get lost, that I knew it was a scam, and that he was just chasing business for dodgy ambulance chasers, he kept going with his script. At one point I had to ask if he was hard of hearing, because he didn’t react at all to me unloading a load of abuse on him. After letting off some steam, which was quite satisfying knowing I wasn’t upsetting a genuine person, I finally ended the call.

I received a call from a woman of Asian descent who identified herself as Joanne from Microsoft. She informed me that there was an issue with my computer and requested me to turn it on. I strongly advise everyone to block this number immediately, as there is a possibility that they are trying to deceive you into sharing your banking details through your PC.

Got a call from a guy who said he was with the accident response crew. Hard to catch what he was saying and he kept dodging giving his full name. When I asked what kinda accident, he just said car accident. We told him he’d rung the wrong number and ended the call.

Had a call not long ago from someone claiming to be from an accident claims firm, saying they were ringing for my insurer so I could make a claim for an accident within the past couple of years. Then they started talking about a family member and got quite pushy when I asked where they got my info from and who they were trying to reach. They just cut off the call after I didn't want to share any details.

Received a call from 01212777345, answered but no one spoke. When I rang back, it said the number wasn’t in service. How are they managing this and what can be done to put a stop to it?

I received a call from Smith, an Asian representative from the Road Traffic Department, inquiring about my recent car accident. Curiously, I asked him if his mother visited Mr. Smith or if Mr. Smith came to his house. Unfortunately, he was clueless about the details since he hadn't been born at that time. He mentioned that he would check with his mother once she returned home from attending to her other clients.

Got a call from this number too at about 18:04. I didn’t pick up, but after a beep there was some sort of recording that just said “goodbye” before it cut off. Strange.

Some bloke named Smith from the Road Traffic Dept rang me about a car accident. I asked him if his mum went to Smith or if Smith showed up at his place. He seemed lost, no idea what I meant, said he wasn’t even born then. He told me he’d check with his mum when she gets back from seeing another client.

Got a call from an Asian man claiming to be with Road Traffic Management about some claim. I told him straight up it’s a scam and to stop wasting my time and not call again. Honestly, there needs to be something done to put an end to these annoying calls, it’s just harassment now. How do they even get hold of my number? I’ve never given anyone permission to share it with third parties.

0121 277 7345 just like loads of others, no answer at all. Why is this number still allowed to get away with this? What’s Ofcom doing about tracking it down? Do they even have any idea?

Got a silent call from this number, then I got two more calls like that from different unknown numbers. Very odd.

Earlier this morning, at 11:28 am on 29th April 2016, I received a phone call from the mentioned number. The caller claimed to be in Luton and identified as a representative of 'Accident Compensation UK Ltd'. They insisted on discussing an accident that someone associated with my phone number had experienced within the past 2 years. Curiosity got the better of me, so I allowed them to continue speaking. Surprisingly, using my quick thinking, I managed to record just over 2 minutes of our conversation before the caller abruptly ended the call!

This number called me at 8.40 in the morning but stayed completely silent. I’ve blocked it now so they cannae ring again. A few days back I had a call from a different 0121 number where the person spoke with a strong foreign accent, saying they were from TalkTalk and needed to access my PC to sort some issues. I told them I'd ring them back later as I was leaving, but they wouldn’t give me their number and just ended the call. I've blocked that one as well, so maybe this new call came because I blocked the previous one (0121 4215 635).

I got a call from the same number claiming to be from TalkTalk, just a casual "hey, what’s up?" I instantly knew it was a scam, so I just hung up on them. A while back, I almost got caught out by something like this too. Luckily, I switched off the router before they could pull anything sneaky, then went and changed all my passwords for the router and PC as a precaution.

The same number kept calling me, but when I answered, they just put the phone down straight away. Feels like they're after older folks or something. What a nasty bunch.

Had a phone call a moment ago, same as loads of others here. They tried to get me to let them control my computer and kept at it no matter what. It’s really worrying how stubborn they are. Makes me concerned for older folks, like my mum and dad, who might fall for these kinds of tricks.

Got a call from someone claiming to be TalkTalk, they even knew my name and said they were from the internet team. I couldn’t really understand what he was saying, so I just ended the call. Then he phoned me back asking why I’d ended it. I told him I didn’t trust he was really from TalkTalk because it felt like he wanted to get into my computer. So yeah, I blocked the number right away.

Got a call from a bloke with a strong Asian accent claiming to be from TalkTalk, saying there was an issue with my internet (I haven’t used TalkTalk for ages). When I called him out and said it was a scam, and explained the dodgy scheme he was trying to pull, he got proper mad and started swearing. Then he threatened some awful stuff about me and my family, which I found disgusting. I told him exactly what I thought about him and his scammer mates, then muted the phone and waited for him to hang up. I could still hear him shouting and ranting while I stayed silent.
