01212725077 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01212725077 👆 is reported as a persistent scam number impersonating O2 or EE, often offering unrealistically large discounts on phone bills to lure targets. Callers typically use foreign accents and may possess some personal information, pressuring recipients to verify accounts via text codes, which enables unauthorised access. Reports include multiple calls, sometimes followed by aggressive or rude behaviour if declined, and suspicious text messages requesting verification codes. Many users advise not to engage, to block the caller, and to report it to official channels like 7726 or Action Fraud. Genuine providers do not offer such discounts unsolicited or request verification codes via texts, so vigilance is essential to avoid falling victim to this prevalent and sophisticated scam.

Got a call from someone called Mark claiming to be from O2, saying they were giving me a discount because of bad signal where I live (which is true). I hung up on him, but then he rang back straight away! Then he started asking why I ended the call! I’ve decided to block the number now.

Someone called pretending to be from EE, asking for my upgrade info. I am due an upgrade soon, but the account isn’t in my name, it’s my partner’s. So I asked who they were speaking with, cos usually EE won’t do anything without my partner’s permission. The caller said they couldn’t tell me because of UK laws protecting against fraud. I told them there’s no such law under GDPR about that, and that customers can ask companies to verify who they’re talking to. When I said I wouldn’t give any details until they confirmed the account holder, they just hung up.

TOTAL SCAM ALERT. Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming she was from EE, offering a massive 40% off. I already get a 9% discount from EE, so this sounded way too good to be true. No company hands out deals like that without strings attached. I politely said no thanks. Then she started pushing, saying I “really must accept the discount.” I said no again and ended the call. Definitely fishy behaviour.

Got a call earlier claiming to be from O2, offering me a 40% reduction on my bill. I just got a discount not long ago, so it seemed odd they’d offer another so quickly. My son got a similar call a few days back too, but I’m not sure what number they used to ring him. When I asked why they were giving out another discount so soon, they just cut the call.

This was definitely a fake call. I rang O2 myself and the person on the phone already had my email and even the last bill figure. They kept asking for my bank info and details about my O2 account. Problem is, O2’s call centre is in India and they didn’t seem to get what was going on. I just got bounced around all over the place. Aren't there any English people looking for work? We've got over 2 million out of work!

It's rather curious to see so many comments lamenting the thick Indian accent of the caller, suggesting a lack of comprehension. I too received a call from this number, and while the individual did indeed have an Indian accent and the area code was linked to Birmingham, it's worth noting that many locals can struggle to understand the pronounced accents of certain Pakistani callers, which can sometimes be just as challenging for the average British ear. I even rang O2 directly, and to my astonishment, the English was even less intelligible than that of the so-called scammer! It leads me to ponder why British companies persist in outsourcing to call centres overseas. With over two million folks currently searching for work here, and while a fraction may have disabilities, a significant number could readily tackle customer service roles and communicate effectively. Surely, it makes more sense to keep jobs local?

Phew! I was fortunate enough to be catching some Z’s with my phone nestled under my pillow when this number rang me-not once, but twice! A woman kept chirping “hello, hello,” but I chose not to respond. It slipped my mind until later in the evening when I thought to ring it back. Each time, it kept notifying me that I’d dialled an incorrect number. So, I did a bit of sleuthing online to see if it belonged to some company. Turns out, I discovered quite a bit about scam calls. Cheers for that! 👍

I found myself in Birmingham when I received a call from a number I knew was from that area. The person on the other end was a woman, but beyond that, I couldn't glean much more. It quickly became apparent that it might be a scam of some sort, so I probed repeatedly to ascertain her purpose. It seemed like we were both speaking in completely different tongues, as her grasp of English was rather questionable-if it could even be considered a language she had any familiarity with. Fell for this one earlier today. Thankfully, I caught on once the call had finished and managed to update my account information before anything bad happened. The scammers had all my info - name, address, email, monthly bill amount, even my security question answers. They were really persuasive. The texts urging me to change my account details came through just quickly enough to make me act without reading them carefully. Luckily, I checked the messages after the call and contacted O2 straight away to secure my account. Watch out, these scammers are getting cleverer!

I had a rather unsettling experience today, as I found myself on the receiving end of a call purporting to be from O2. Fortunately, it clicked with me after the call that something was amiss, and I promptly changed my account information before any harm was inflicted. The scammers had an alarming amount of my personal information - my full name, address, email address, my monthly billing amount, and even my security question! They really had me second-guessing myself. They escalated the urgency just enough with some texts about updating my account that I barely managed to absorb what was being conveyed. Thankfully, I took a moment to review those messages after our chat and contacted O2 posthaste to secure my account. Do stay vigilant! These con artists are becoming increasingly sophisticated!

It's a dodgy call centre, for sure. They're trying to fish for two-factor authentication codes to illegally access mobile accounts, which could lead to unwanted transactions. Best to be wary of their calls!

Claimed to be from O2, but ended the call quickly. Ignored and got rid of their text.

This number keeps ringing me non stop.

It’s definitely a scam, and foolishly I called back since I was waiting on a call from Birmingham. When I rang the number back it said “you have dialled the wrong number.” Total scam, just block it.

Someone rang me and left a weird message with loud music playing in the background. I’ve blocked the number already!

They kept saying the call was coming from my O2 network, but I’m not even an O2 customer so I just ended the call and blocked them straight away.

Got a call from an 02 number, someone offering a 40% discount for a year. They said they’d text me twice to confirm the account. I asked them to email me the details instead, but they insisted I had to verify the account first. The call supposedly came from Birmingham - can’t they just block these numbers nowadays with all the tech we have? Or am I just being too hopeful?

Beware of scams! To help tackle these fraudsters, make sure you report and block any suspicious numbers. You can send details of scam calls via text to '7726'. The more people who report, the more likely your phone provider will flag the number across their network. For scam texts, forward them to '7726' but also email screenshots to '[email protected] for the rest of the UK.

Annoying telemarketer ringing in from a rather boisterous call centre.

Got a call from someone saying they were with O2 and could give me a 30% discount on my bill, but when I asked who the call was actually for, they couldn’t say. Bit fishy if you ask me.
