A lady with an Asian accent called me claiming to be from Virgin Media about some issue with my internet. I told her I hadn’t noticed any problems. She then asked if I could describe the colour showing on my router, saying it would help her check if the fault was sorted. When I questioned her whether she was trying to scam me, she rudely told me to buzz off - definitely nicer than what I wanted to reply, but she cut the call off before I could say anymore!

Some person claimed to be with Virgin Media and I just played along, asked if they wanted my card details, then hung up right away. If I’d had more time, I’d have kept them chatting for ages just for a laugh. Honestly, Virgin Media couldn’t care less about their customers, so they won’t bother calling unless your payments are late. Instead of dodging them, just have a bit of fun and keep your spirits up! 😊

No doubt a scam. I picked up without checking who it was. Some woman with an Asian accent claimed she was ringing from Virgin about my internet. I told her I’m not a Virgin customer, but she said that didn’t make any difference! She kept going like she was just reading from a script. I ended the call pretty quickly. Could be really bad for someone who’s more trusting or vulnerable.

⚠️ SCAM ALERT ⚠️ - MALE VOICE FROM INDIA - Just hung up on them - BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT DOWNLOADING APPS FROM THE PLAY STORE - especially stuff like remote assistance tools - they claimed to be from Virgin Media - ⚠️ THEY'RE NOT ⚠️ I’m pretty tech savvy but still nearly got caught out by this. They ask you to install apps, spelling them out - the one they wanted was TEAMVIEWER QUICK SUPPORT. PLEASE DON’T DOWNLOAD ANYTHING! ⚠️ Virgin Media have been told, and so has Action Fraud. Stay alert!
