Saw a PayPal receipt with this number attached for £399. I didn’t ring it or anything, just logged into my PayPal to make sure no money was missing or on hold. Then I went straight to PayPal to sort it out.

I got an email saying thanks for buying Bitcoin for £399 through what looked like a PayPal message. When I checked the sender’s address, it wasn’t a normal PayPal one at all - it was something weird like [email protected]. Definitely felt off and dodgy to me.

Got an email telling me I'd bought an Apple iPad for £399.99, and that if I didn't recognise it, I should call the number listed on the invoice. Nope, not falling for that one. I've already reported it.

Got an email saying thanks for an order of 0.228BTC costing £399.99, saying the money will be taken from my PayPal. It told me to call +44 1212705973 if there’s any issue. The email supposedly came from a Jarrell Zboncak and mentioned bitcoin. Obviously, I haven’t replied or called the number. This has got scam written all over it!

I’ve been getting persistent calls from this number claiming to represent Virgin Media, asserting that my internet connection is sluggish. When I pointed out that I don’t even use Virgin, they tried to convince me that Virgin manages the entire broadband network in the UK! It’s clearly a scam, so don’t be duped by it!

Someone phoned claiming to be from Virgin Media. When I asked for his details and what office he was representing, he mentioned 81 Newgate Street and gave the name David Harley. The problem is, I actually work at BT and that address belongs to their former headquarters. Definitely seemed dodgy to me, and I worry folks who aren't as savvy, like the elderly, could easily fall for it.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft tech support... and yeah, they were pretty pushy. I probably didn’t help much either coz I just burst out laughing when they told me to head to Reading. The person on the other end got really snappy and just told me to f**k off before hanging up on me. Blimey, that must be a tough gig dealing with people all day!
