Got a call saying my Mum had to pay another £900 for her alarm service. They had all her info, even my mobile number, which we gave the alarm company to contact us about her system. My Mum's 84 and got really anxious that the alarm wouldn’t be looked after if she didn’t pay. She told them to get in touch with me instead, but no call has come through. Rang her actual alarm provider and they denied making any calls to her.

Got a call from a daft sounding lady at 10:08 who kept asking if I was Mrs Harkness. I told her she’s got the wrong number. Then just two minutes later, the same woman rings again asking for Mr something or other. I said again, wrong number. Then she started going on about some farm. I hung up right after that.

Got a call from a bloke today asking if I was Mrs Johnson. I said no, and he told me she wanted a quote for a burglar alarm and used my phone number and address! Then he asked if I wanted a burglar alarm. I said I already have one and told him not to call again as our landline is on the TPS register.

A bloke rang me earlier to say that Olive won't be responding to the burglar alarm anymore. I thanked him and ended the call. But when I looked up the number on here, it’s obvious it’s some dodgy sales scam. Thought about reporting it to the TPS, but they want my info to send to the company for their own checking. Not really comfortable giving my details out like that!

I just got a call from this number saying the police don’t attend burglar alarms now and wanted to arrange a time to talk about security systems. I said it wasn’t a good time, and he said he'd ring back later. Feels like they’re targeting folks worried about the rise in crime?

Got a call on our home phone at 10:25 yesterday (22/03/18). Our number's been on the TPS list for ages! Didn’t pick up since we didn’t recognise the number. Surely TPS should be doing something about this company given all the complaints they’ve had?

It’s clear these folks are going after older people, I had a call from them this morning. I don’t answer numbers I don’t know, so I just hung up straight away. I’m sure plenty have reported them to TPS (I’m on the list myself) but it just shows how useless it really is.

I received a call earlier today from someone attempting to extol the virtues of their monitored alarm systems. He went on about how the fuzz rarely respond to home burglaries-hardly groundbreaking information! I let him know that nowadays, you can easily pick up your own alarms from the shops and keep an eye on things yourself. He promptly hung up.

Stay clear of these lot! They call up older folks, pushing security gear and make it sound totally legit. Somehow they had my details - name, address, and number - but I reckon it’s just a con. The firm’s Rancom, had a look them up on Google and there’s loads of negative reviews.

Got a call from this firm, they had some of my info but it was an outdated address. They sounded legit, made a few follow-up calls about a monitored alarm system, saying police don’t respond to burglar alarms anymore. They offered a free security check, free installation and half price on gear, all for about £399. Sounds a bit fishy to me. Not too keen on booking a sales visit though, cause like door-to-door sales, once they’re in, you can’t shake them off without signing something.
