Received a rather intrusive call today from someone identifying themselves as Life Insure. They were probing me with all sorts of questions which I flatly refused to entertain. Given that I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service, I demanded to know how they acquired my information. They fumbled about, claiming I’d had some sort of interaction with an insurance firm within the last six years, and that there were supposed 'issues' with my existing policy. I gave the young lady a piece of my mind, but she persisted in saying she only required thirty seconds of my attention. Once again, I pressed her for the source of their mailing list, but she couldn’t provide any specifics. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was connected to a gentleman who informed me that she was new, yet he also refused to clarify matters for me. He did, however, assure me that my details would be removed from their system. I'm absolutely livid about the sheer volume of these sneaky calls and I plan to escalate this matter with the TPS. I strongly advise others to steer clear of engaging with these types of callers - they were remarkably tenacious, and if I hadn’t been on my guard, there’s no telling how many vulnerable individuals might have been caught out by their tactics. Just another bunch of unsavoury characters out there! - caller: Life Insure

I received a call from this number, and it showed up on my caller ID. The conversation kicked off with the person asking for me by name, which is rather standard in the business world. They were inquiring about my life insurance policy, supposedly to check if I was overpaying. I informed them that I had everything I required. The caller launched into a lengthy discussion, casually mentioning my former address, which I recently left. When I pressed them about who they represented, they gave a rather vague response, claiming to work for all the major firms and rattling off a list of well-known names but without actually specifying anything. They were courteous yet rather insistent, pushing for a visit from their representative the following day, despite not knowing my current address. This doesn't strike me as a legitimate business engagement; it seems more like an attempt to corroborate details they shouldn't already possess. If they're after an appointment, surely they would validate your address first? They've got my name, phone number, and now my old address, which raises red flags. It’s wise to keep an eye on your credit rating and scrutinise your bank statements. Ultimately, it all revolves around finances. I have no debts to speak of. The caller had a West Midlands dialect, possibly with an Asian accent, and spoke at a rapid pace.

I received a call from a bloke named Jason, representing Lifeinsure. He already had my name, address, and date of birth, which struck me as a bit concerning. After I mentioned the premium I'm currently paying for my life insurance, he had the audacity to suggest that it sounded rather steep. He offered for one of their advisors to ring me back for a reassessment. I set it up for them to contact me again, but to be honest, I’m feeling rather sceptical about the whole situation and I've decided not to pick up when they ring. - Caller: Jason from Lifeinsure

Picking up from what was mentioned earlier, the advisor never got back to me. I'm really hoping this isn't some kind of con.

Received a call today from someone claiming to be from Lloyds Insurance. When I mentioned I had no association with them, the caller insisted, "Oh, but we’re not actually from Lloyds." At that point, I decided to hang up. The caller ID clearly indicated it was Lloyds Insurance.

Received a call from Life Insurance regarding my stepson. He wasn’t around at the time, but the chap on the other end was shockingly persistent about speaking with him. I explained quite clearly that my stepson wasn't interested. Yet, he continued to press me to get him on the line. I reiterated that he wasn’t available, but the bloke claimed he’d ring back. I told him we weren’t interested and preferred no further calls. Yet, he still insisted he would try again. I mentioned that we’d had similar calls blocked a few years back. He informed me we were on an automated list, and when I requested to be removed, he bluntly told me that wouldn’t be the case and hinted we'd be hearing from them again. I took note of their number and reported it to BT. Definitely had a Scouse twang to his voice.

I've just received a call that we couldn't pick up in time, and to make things a bit more puzzling, they didn't bother leaving a message. The caller ID simply showed as 'unknown'.

Just received a cheeky call on my mobile from these clowns hawking life insurance. I was a bit taken aback, especially since she seemed to know my last name. But not wanting to entertain their nonsense any longer, I swiftly ended the conversation. Absolute lowlifes, truly despicable! - Caller: Life Insure

I’ve received several calls from this number lately. I never pick up if I don’t recognise the caller; I reckon they’ll leave a voicemail if it’s truly urgent. Yet, no such luck-just another ring! It’s quite baffling why they tend to reach out during the evening hours. How on earth did they get hold of my number, especially since I'm registered as ex-directory?

My wife unexpectedly picked up a call about our life insurance, which we hadn’t solicited at all. The chap on the other end was rather pushy and didn’t introduce himself properly. He had the cheek to know our surname and proceeded to drill her with all sorts of probing questions regarding our life insurance policy, along with details about our mortgage-specifically, how much we owe! After a lengthy chat lasting several minutes, my wife eventually managed to end the call. However, it dawned on her that she had unwittingly divulged four crucial bits of our personal information: 1. Our surname was confirmed. 2. We admitted to having a mortgage. 3. She disclosed the amount still outstanding on it. 4. We acknowledged our life insurance coverage. By the way, we shouldn’t have even received this call because we’ve registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and are ex-directory. If anyone else has found themselves in a similar predicament, please take the following steps: Reach out to the Telephone Preference Service if you're registered on your landline and ask for a complaint form pertaining to this caller. Initially, you’ll hear an automated message, so let it play through. After that, you’ll be connected to someone who can handle your complaint. The TPS contact number is 0845 07 007 07. If you’re not already signed up for TPS, do so right away using the number above. Should you encounter any further nuisance calls, simply request that complaint form and submit it accordingly.

I received a call inquiring for Mr or Mrs, and they seemed to have my surname handy. They then moved on to pester me about life insurance. I told them we already had it and weren't keen on engaging, but they continued to press the issue, which prompted me to end the call abruptly. It’s frustrating because we're on the Telephone Preference Service list, yet these pesky callers keep coming through! - Caller: refused to identify themselves when I asked who was on the line.

I've experienced something similar myself. They’ve rung me on two occasions today alone! I’ve made it clear that I do not wish to receive calls from them. Interestingly, they also attempted to reach me back on the 14th of November, 2014. I've taken the liberty of reporting them to the Telephone Preference Service since I'm already registered to avoid unsolicited sales calls.

I received a call from an unknown number, and when I tried to return the call, my number was withheld. I was greeted with a pre-recorded voice saying, "Hello, we rang you regarding life insurance." Sadly, I didn't catch the rest of the message, but it sounded like they were fishing for claims on mis-sold policies. It's quite frustrating, as I’ve registered with the Telephone Preference Service, meaning I should ideally be left alone!

I received a call from a withheld number but didn't pick up, only to find a recorded message waiting for me. It started off with, "Hello, we tried to reach you regarding life insurance." I didn't catch all the details, but it seems to be regarding reclaiming mis-sold policies. Quite frustrating as I've registered with the Telephone Preference Service and shouldn't be getting these sorts of calls at all!
