Some bloke called himself John and claimed he was ringing from ‘Medical Alert’. He told me their system showed I qualified for one of their medical alert pendants, then straight away asked if I was above 58 years old. I got a bit wary right away and asked what the whole medical alert gadget was about. He said it was something you could wear, like a belt, necklace or on your wrist. But as he was going on, the call just cut off - I reckon he hung up once he realised I wasn’t buying it.
