So, i picked up and they asked for me by name, saying they were with citizen advice. I asked if it was really from the citizen advice bureau, and they said yes, it was about some debt. I told them I actually worked for citizen advice (which isnt true), and then they just hung up straight away.

BEWARE OF THOSE NATIVE SCAMMERS! Make sure you report every scam call or message to the police fraud system. Just search ‘action fraud’ on Google and visit the ‘police.uk’ website. Head to the ‘report a phishing attempt’ section and make sure to read all the info carefully. Then enter all the scam details you have, including any links or web addresses. You don’t need to register, and they won’t ask for personal info unless you’ve actually lost money. If we all keep reporting these dodgy calls and texts, the police will have a better chance of tracking these crooks down.

I picked up the phone and they mentioned my name right off the bat, claiming to be from the Citizens' Advice service. When I asked if they were indeed representing the bureau, they replied in the affirmative and went on to say the call was regarding debts. I decided to play along and told them I was an employee of the bureau (which is far from the truth), and suddenly, the call was cut short. Quite the peculiar encounter, if you ask me!

Blimey, I just experienced that too! I nearly got reeled in! My instincts were screaming that something was off, so I began grilling him with questions. So yesterday, I got a call from this number 01404841431, which apparently is linked to a farm near Honiton. The voice sounded English and the line was pretty clear, no background noise or anything. I was busy at the time, so I told them to call back at 10am today. Well, today at exactly 10, I got another call but from a different number based in Colchester. Tried calling the original farm number back, but it wouldn’t go through. After checking things out here, I figured it’s best to just block both of these numbers.

The click noise when I answered sounded exactly like those other scam calls from India that have been bugging me for months. Always some rubbish story with all kinds of angles - debt, prizes, holiday deals - and their accents are so hard to make out. It’s the same old thing every time.

Never signed up for Can Can Finance, but got a call from them anyway. The moment I answered, they hung up on me. After that, I blocked that number but somehow I kept getting calls from loads of other numbers - all showing up as Can Can when I looked them up. Proper waste of time this is.
