Received a call from someone purporting to be with Carphone Warehouse. I mentioned that I've had a string of similar calls on my UK landline. What stood out was that they all seemed to come from an Asian gentleman. When I indicated I was onto their little scheme, he offered to send me some documents to prove his legitimacy. In the end, he claimed I was just wasting his time and abruptly ended the call!

Got a call from some bloke pretending to be from Carphone Warehouse trying to flog me an iPhone 12 with unlimited texts, minutes and data at an absurdly cheap price. He kept pushing me for my details to make the sale but I shut him down straight away. When he asked why, I told him flat out I knew he was a dodgy scammer. He ended up shouting and snivelling for about five minutes before hanging up on me. Honestly, these scumbags are the worst.

This is the second time I’ve had a call from some call centre in India claiming to be Carphone Warehouse. The first call came from a number based in Wales, and now it was this one from Colchester. I told the person on the phone I already have a contract, but he insisted they were trying to upgrade my current deal. The thing is, my contract’s nothing to do with Carphone Warehouse at all. He kept asking who my provider was, which seemed daft if he was meant to be handling my contract. I ended the call right there.

This is the second occasion on which I've received a call from an Indian call centre claiming to represent Carphone Warehouse. The previous call originated from a Welsh number, and now I’m receiving this one from a Colchester area code. I informed them that I’m not associated with them in any contract, yet they insisted on discussing the possibility of upgrading my current plan. It's curious, as my agreement isn't with Carphone Warehouse at all. When I was asked who my service provider is, I couldn't help but think they should already have that information if they were indeed my provider. Ultimately, the conversation ended abruptly as I hung up on them.

The caller claimed to be representing Carphone Warehouse. When I queried them about my name, they were unable to provide any details. Upon inquiring how they obtained my number, they insisted that I had given consent. I pointed out the absurdity of granting permission when they didn’t even know my name, and at that point, the caller simply cut the line.

I can vouch for the fact that this number belongs to a fraudster. I actually managed to disrupt one of their scripts and kept them chatting for a solid quarter of an hour. During our conversation, they let slip that they operate several different scams. Quite the revelation!
