Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming she was with Domestic & General, the company I already have my appliances insured through. She chatted about offering me some cheaper deals and said she'd pass me over to a mate who'd sort out the better prices. Then she asked what brand my washing machine was - I told her she’d have that info since it’s already on my cover. Next thing I know, she just hung up on me!

A bloke called claiming to be from British Gas, checking if my boiler was alright since I'm supposedly a long-time customer. He said the boiler cover had ended and mentioned sending me some forms about a direct debit, then asked for my sort code. After repeating the request twice, I asked why he needed my sort code before I'd even agreed to the cover. Then he just hung up. Clearly a scam, and when he couldn’t get my bank info, he just gave up!
