Just today, I picked up, and the caller claimed there was a claim pending for me due to a car accident. Naturally, I responded by saying they should just pay me out then, rather cheeky I know! To my disbelief, they then admitted they actually had no claim on file for me at all! I got a bit fed up and warned them that if they rang again, I'd report them for harassment. They tried to brush it off, insisting that wasn’t a thing, but I set them straight. I explained that after two calls, it’s an official warning, and any further calls could lead to an arrest for harassment. The lad on the line seemed flabbergasted and asked how I'd come by that knowledge. I casually mentioned that I used to be in the police force! To my surprise, he quickly backtracked and promised to take me off their call list. Result!14 yearsI received an unsettling phone call the other day, asserting that I had been involved in some sort of accident. It was rather intimidating, to say the least.
