Someone called Barrat saying they could assist with my investments. They mentioned my bank, Lloyd’s, and claimed I signed up with them in 2020, giving out my phone and email. I told them I’d never share my info and asked them to delete any details they had on me.

Someone called saying they were from Goodwin Barrett and claimed I’d filed a claim before that they could now move forward with. They wanted to know my mortgage provider so I lied and said Barclays. Got a call from a lady, sounded either Canadian or American, who claimed I’d asked about a problem with investments from Legal and General and St James’s Place dating back to 20 March 2020. She couldn’t explain what the enquiry was about, saying it was “confidential”, but insisted my phone number was in their records even though it’s unlisted. When I told her I never made any enquiry and was confused by the call, she promised to send me an email. I wasn’t holding my breath since I’d just changed my password a couple of hours earlier. Sure enough, within the hour, an email arrived from Goodwin Barratt, but no details on the enquiry itself - just a generic spiel about their company specialising in reclaiming money and charging fees only on success. Sounds like a classic scam to me, probably fishing for my banking info to “return” the recovered funds!

When you include other related firms like Gourmet Moments, it can add up to about 30 calls some days! Their team doesn’t seem to take refusal well either, so even with call-blockers, you’ll get bombarded nearly every day. Absolute madness, honestly.
