Over the past few days, I've had this number ring me like 15 times, all leaving voicemails about some PPI tax they say me and my partner owe from a claim we never made. I haven’t paid any tax in ages, like over 15 years, since I was a stay-at-home mum and later got ill and couldn’t work. This is just not right!

Some bloke rang up claiming he was from a Solicitor regarding some tax issue. I’d already been made aware of similar scams, though from other names, so I was suspicious straight away. This one even said they sent letters to me and my husband, which we never got. They asked for us both by name, and when I said I’d check with my husband first, the caller lost it, started swearing, and then just hung up on me.

Got a call claiming it was about some marriage tax thing and that they'd sorted out my claim. I told them I didn’t remember anything about it. Then they asked me to confirm my address and stuff, and mentioned Santander. I told them I’ve never had an account there. The person then said it was probably a mix-up on their end and that she’d look into it and ring me back. I’ve since blocked the number.
