On 21st May 2021, I got a letter from HMRC saying I was due a tax refund of £200.56, but it said the money was to go to a company called Goldman Knightley. I’m not sure why it’s meant to be paid to them. I’ve told HMRC about the mix up because it turns out Goldman Knightley have used my info to claim the refund. HMRC are now checking what’s going on.

Got a unexpected letter from HMRC saying my tax refund is being sent to some Goldman Knightly Solicitors within two weeks of the letter date. I've no clue who they are and never hired them for anything. Their phone number they gave is 01204 563533, which isn't exactly the same as the one mentioned earlier. I'll be getting in touch with HMRC asap to sort this out.

Had three calls from Goldman Knightley, all pretty persistent, wanting my National Insurance number. They say I got taxed on a PPI refund from Harringtons, which I never actually got - Harringtons already scammed me once. I got caught out at first, so watch out and don’t be fooled like I was!

Got a call from 01204 208171 about some marriage allowance thing. I’ve been married since the late 80s, so it caught me off guard. It was the second time they called, bombarding me with rapid-fire questions about marriage tax allowance and our income. All they wanted were simple yes or no answers. They didn’t give any names or reference any accounts, just asked if I earn more than £12k and if my husband is retired. I felt kinda pressured to answer some yes/no just to get them off. Got a call from a woman claiming to be with some Money Reclaim Experts. She said I could get something called marriage tax allowance back. I told her I’m not interested since I’m single. If you’re curious, just check Gov.uk for info on the marriage tax allowance - you don’t need some company up in your business. Plus, I’m pretty sure no one can do the claim for you since it’s just sorting out your tax code with HMRC.

Received a rather dodgy call today claiming that HMRC was about to process a tax refund for me due to overpayment. I promptly refused and hung up. Please, don’t fall for this - it’s a total scam! Never share any personal information with them. Just a heads up, folks - stay alert!

Just got a message from someone called Goldman Knightley about my claim. They sent a link to click on, but what really freaked me out was that they already had my NI number. Definitely feels dodgy to me.

GOLDMAN KNIGHTLEY messaged me saying to click the link to move forward with my claim. It was something like [#]ug0[###]/eoZ. I wasn’t too sure about it, seemed a bit dodgy. Better to be careful and double check before clicking anything!

Got a letter from HMRC saying I’m getting £35 back, but the cheque is going to some firm called Goldman Knightley - no idea who they are. Sounds like someone’s tried to claim a tax refund pretending to be me, which is a bit worrying. I've already told HMRC about it. Just thought I’d warn everyone to watch out for this company.

I received a call from someone claiming to be a solicitor's office and they seemed to have quite a bit of information about me, including my name. They mentioned that I had put in a PPI claim with M & S a few years back. They reassured me they could assist in reclaiming tax on that. In a moment of impulse, I ended up sharing my National Insurance number with them. Honestly, ever since that call, it’s been playing on my mind and I can’t shake this uneasy feeling.

I received a rather dubious call from this number, with the individual insisting that I haven't received my full PPI payout and that there’s a considerable sum waiting for me. I haven't shared any banking information, but they do seem to have my details, including the address for a cheque, along with my name and date of birth. It's curious, as I did file a small claim for PPI in the past, and it seems as if they're aware of that. Is this some sort of scam? They also threw in something about an HMRC refund, which only adds to my suspicion.
