This is not just a simple scam, it’s proper dodgy. Professional Reclaim Services work with Goldman Knightley Solicitors based in Manchester to chase your tax money. I got a letter today saying they’d sent off £200.44 that they claimed I was owed. I kept telling the caller over and over NOT to mess with my tax affairs, but somehow they’ve faked my signature and even got my National Insurance number from Professional Reclaim. Right now, I’m sorting things out with the GDPR authorities to get these two companies looked into properly. DO NOT hand over any info and make sure you check your tax situation carefully!

I just got a phone call from this number who said it was about a PPI claim I supposedly made through Harringtons, which is true. They told me I was owed a refund and that a cheque would be sent after HMRC confirms the amount. They already had some of my info and even sent me a text to read a form, sign it, and send it back. I'm a bit unsure if this is genuine or some sort of scam.

Someone rang me saying it was regarding extra tax paid on a PPI payout I supposedly got from the Royal Bank of Scotland. They claimed HMRC had taken their cut first before I got the money and they could help me recover it. But I sorted the PPI claim straight with the bank myself! No one else was involved. Definitely steer clear of this caller or company, total waste of time!

So, they wanted info from me going back to 2016, told me they were stepping in for a PPI firm I'd dealt with. At the end, they asked me to click on some link - which I’d normally just delete straight away. I didn’t click it, so now they say they’ll send me a letter instead.

Got a call from someone claiming he was called Travis, said he could help get back some tax I'd overpaid, mentioned PPI claims too. He wanted all sorts of stuff like my full name, address, and details about my tax year going back to 2016. Felt really iffy about the whole thing, so I didn't share anything. Got a call earlier and they sounded pretty convincing, like they knew all about my old PPI stuff. They said I’m entitled to some tax refund from previous claims and asked for my NI number, but I didn’t give it to them. I just gave them my new address and told them to send me the info in writing. If I really am owed tax, shouldn’t I be able to claim it myself? Doesn’t make sense for them to take a percentage. If it’s legit, I guess I’ll see soon enough. Fingers crossed it’s not some dodgy scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be solicitors saying I’d paid some tax by mistake on a PPI claim. Didn’t trust it one bit and just blocked the number straight away.

Today I got a ring from this number. The bloke said his name was Sam Sherrington and that he was calling from Goldman Knightley Solicitors. He mentioned they’d done some legal work for Financial Justice (FJ) regarding PPI claims. I told him I’d actually received some PPI refunds from FJ before, and he claimed HMRC had taxed those wrongly. He asked me quite a few questions and told me to expect another call from Goldman Knightley Solicitors in about 4 to 6 weeks. I had a look them up on the Companies House website, and they seem legit. Guess I’ll just see how it pans out!
