Really glad there are websites like this that help warn folks about scam calls. I use a BT call blocker on my phone that catches calls from numbers I don't recoginse so I can have a look at them and block if needed.

This caller clearly uses some kind of auto dialler that rings loads of people all at once, and as soon as one person picks up, the rest just get cut off with a silent drop. I always let my answerphone pick up first to avoid falling for it. Next time I get one of these calls, I’m thinking of giving my MP’s number instead. If enough folks did this, maybe the government would actually take notice and maybe even sort out some kind of compensation for those annoyed by these calls.

When someone rings up and can’t even get the right name, you just know it’s not gonna be worth your time. I’ll say one thing for the lady though - when I told her she’d got the wrong number, she actually said sorry! Not something you see every day. She even wished me a good evening, which was nice. We’re definitely blocking this number, and I’d recommend adding it to the block list on your elderly relatives’ phones to save them the hassle. More sales calls, and as we’re on the TPS, it just feels like a total waste of time.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with the Renewable Incentive Centre, saying they wanted to discuss a "Government" grant. When I asked which Government, she kept trying to follow her script despite all the background noise from what sounded like a busy call centre. So, I received a call from a woman named Mary, claiming to be from something called HOUSE UTOPIA. She mentioned she needed to ask me five questions to determine if I was eligible for a new boiler. I insisted on getting more information about the scheme before entertaining her questions, and suddenly, the line went silent - she hung up without another word. Clearly a scam, as the name she referenced was one I concocted previously when speaking to another cold caller pretending to do "research."
