This definitely seemed like a scam to me. The guy had an English accent and acted like he was from some housing association. At first, he was really nice and polite. But when I asked him to send the council details over email, his attitude changed and he got quite short and nasty. I wouldn’t trust it, sounds dodgy to me.

My mum has been getting this call for ages so I picked up this time. Some dodgy scam about social housing for a Frank Cunningham living at number 41. We told them it was the wrong number and they asked if we were connected to him at all. They promised to take our number off the list but never actually do.

Picked up the phone but no one said a word. Then I noticed the number looked a lot like one I got yesterday from Social Housing. Today I got a call from someone saying they were with social housing. They kept asking loads of personal stuff and were really pushy about it. Got a call from someone saying they were from the housing 'Disrepair team'. When I asked which organisation they were with, they couldn’t give me a proper answer. They wanted me to send pictures of the repairs I needed done and even mentioned sending a surveyor. Kept putting me on hold and passing me around. Oddly, they said they’d message me on WhatsApp, but never even checked if I had the app. Just felt sketchy, so I’ve blocked the number and my spam filter’s on alert now!

Supposedly a ‘social housing repairs crew’. These call centres aren’t always based in Bolton, they can actually forward calls from all over the globe. From the way they speak, I'd wager they’re somewhere near Delhi. They pick out what sound like British names, thinking it’ll make them sound more legit! So far, I’ve had calls from ‘Patrick, Sophie, and Kevin’!
