This definitely seemed like a scam to me. The guy had an English accent and acted like he was from some housing association. At first, he was really nice and polite. But when I asked him to send the council details over email, his attitude changed and he got quite short and nasty. I wouldn’t trust it, sounds dodgy to me.

My mum has been getting this call for ages so I picked up this time. Some dodgy scam about social housing for a Frank Cunningham living at number 41. We told them it was the wrong number and they asked if we were connected to him at all. They promised to take our number off the list but never actually do.

Picked up the phone but no one said a word. Then I noticed the number looked a lot like one I got yesterday from Social Housing. Today I got a call from someone saying they were with social housing. They kept asking loads of personal stuff and were really pushy about it. I didn’t think much of it until I decided to ring the number back and that’s when it hit me - they were total scammers. Received a call from someone purporting to be with the housing 'Disrepair team.' When I inquired about their employer, they were utterly vague. They wanted me to send photos of my unresolved issues and even suggested sending a surveyor to my house. The whole scenario was bizarre; they kept transferring me to different people and mentioned they’d ping me on WhatsApp-completely unprompted and without checking if I even used the app! Quite strange, so I've promptly turned my spam filter back on!

Supposedly from a so-called 'social housing repairs team'. Truth be told, these call centres aren’t just based in Bolton; they can divert calls from virtually anywhere around the globe. Based on the accent, I wouldn't be surprised if it's Delhi. What’s more, they have a penchant for adopting what they assume are British names in a bid to fool us! I’ve already encountered 'Patrick, Sophie, and Kevin' on the line!

Received a call from a chap with a foreign accent, claiming to be with the Social Housing disrepair team. He inquired if I had any repairs pending. I got the impression he was unaware of my situation and was just probing for details. I decided to end the call, as it felt a bit dodgy and could very well have been a scam.
