I received a phone call from an organisation that assists with public housing, inquiring whether I had encountered any mould issues in my home.

They rang me a couple of times today but I never picked up. The number’s from Bolton, seen loads of calls from there lately and blocked them all - most had the same kinda digits. Tried ringing back but couldn’t get through. Definitely a SCAM!!!

Got a call claiming to be from some tenant survey group. They wouldn’t tell me who they were representing at all. Didn’t even want to say where they were located.

Someone rang pretending to be from the council, saying I’m due insurance money because of damp or mould problems. When I asked for their address, they couldn’t give it and just ended the call quickly after I said I don’t rent through the council.

They didn’t say anything in a message and when I rang back it just said the number couldn’t be reached.

Got a call claiming they were from social housing, saying they wanted to check that everything's alright with my place - stuff like damp, mould, cracks, and if the electrics are safe. They said it's just a courtesy check because of Covid, to see if anyone needs assistance. Sounds like a total scam to me. I'd avoid sharing any details or better still, just ignore the call altogether.

I didn’t pick up since the number had a Bolton code and I dont know anyone from there. I’ve had dodgy calls from that place before. I try blocking them but they still manage to get through by just swapping the last few digits. Proper annoying!

Got a call from someone saying they could help with housing renovations, acting as a middleman between me and the council or private landlords. They asked about the condition of my place and if there were any problems left unresolved. They already had my home and old address info, but only wanted my email - didn’t ask for anything else. Not totally sure if it’s legit or just a scam.

Got a call from 01204 200159 on my mobile, they said they were confirming info to send me renewal papers for my white goods insurance. I asked them what items were insured and since when, because I’m pretty sure I dont have any policy covering everything. She rattled off a bunch of white goods, then I told her I actually don’t have an insurance with them. She paused, said she’d cancel the policy or something, then just hung up.

Totally a scam, so please block this number and never share your card info with anyone on the phone unless you’ve properly checked who they are! Any real company won’t mind if you take a moment to verify and ring them back on a trusted number you find yourself!

Ive taken loads of these calls but no one ever says anything. They ring me late at night, so I blocked the number. Then a different one called and when I answered, the guy asked why I blocked him. I just hung up straight away. Starting to feel a bit worried now.
