On 19/10/22 at about 3.45pm I got a call from 01202942343, a company saying they dealt with home insulation and promised to cut costs. They seem to focus on people over 50. The caller was really forceful, I barely got to speak until I raised my voice! They wanted to come over and do a survey - I'm sure it would’ve ended up with them pushing loads of unnecessary work on us. So if you’re older, watch out - feels like a scam trying to rob pensioners of their funds.

The moment we picked up the call, it cut off immediately, despite being screened by our phone’s caller ID. We always make it a point to investigate these numbers. I told her I wasn’t comfortable dealing with random callers and asked her to send me a letter instead. She promised to post something out tonight. Even if that arrives, I’m still inclined to be very cautious about it.

While I wouldn’t label it a scam outright, I got the feeling it could turn into quite an aggressive sales pitch if I allowed them into my house. I kindly informed her that I wasn’t interested in their offering and ended the conversation. Ultimately, it’s up to you whether you engage with them or simply hang up - just be cautious about letting them into your home!

It was one of those loft insulation rip-offs. I told him to hold on while I dealt with someone at the door, kept him waiting for about five minutes, then said I had to check on the dog. In the end, I asked if he couldn’t find proper work, and he replied that he had, lol. Then the call just dropped. Honestly, being on the TPS list doesn’t seem to make any difference.
