Got a robot voice telling me my card was charged £891 for a flight from Manchester to Mexico City, and then to press 1 to chat with someone. Ended the call straight away and blocked the number. If someone not paying attention got this call and did what it said, they’d probably lose all their money.

I received a call earlier today just as I was getting ready to head out - the name sounded like ‘Stephanie’, if I recall correctly. When I mentioned that I was just about to leave, she said she would try again at a later date. Once I was back, I decided to look up the number, and surprise, surprise, it turned out to be a scam. There were a few details she should’ve known if her intentions were genuine, but she clearly missed the mark. I've made up my mind to block this number without a second thought.

Got a call from a guy claiming to be a senior area manager offering a loft survey for some apex foam insulation. He sounded dodgy, using outdated ID info like a proper scam. Definitely felt like he was working off some ancient data or list.

Got a call from a woman, sounded like she was English, going on about some insulation being less effective after tests. She wanted to do a survey and gave me a couple of dates but I said no thanks. She mentioned houses down the street, so clearly she’d researched the area. She even knew my name and the house number. I’m always suspicious of cold calls though, so wasn’t taken in. It’s clear being on the TPS doesn’t help much ’cause these lot just ignore it. I just kept chatting to her to waste her time.

Got a call today from some firm saying they needed to cancel an appointment scheduled for today. They claimed they were from a company that does insulation recommendations and mentioned a roofing inspector would ring beforehand. They insisted they’d phoned me twice before, but I had my phone right next to me the whole time - I even took it with me into the bathroom while I was showering. Felt a bit iffy about it, so I tried calling the company back but couldn’t get through at all. It’s obvious this is a scam! Being older, these kinds of calls really worry me.

Total scam, trying to fish for info! I got a call from this number and another one, 02867176121, on the very same day - sounded exactly like the same call centre. Blocked them both straight away. I only pick up just to mess about and waste their time, but even after loads of calls they’ve never managed to get anything from me. I even play a recorded message to keep them busy. Haha!

I received a call from someone who asserted they had sourced my number from a government website, offering to upgrade loft insulation and cavity walls. Considering our property is a new build, it was obvious to me that this was nothing but a dodgy scam.

This person kept ringing my mum, who’s 82, like 18 times in a single day! She could clearly tell they were taking advantage and bothered her nonstop, all to push some so-called “free survey”. It’s shocking how they don’t feel even a bit guilty!

I've been receiving some rather insistent calls from a woman representing Quality Home Solutions. She insists that the government has allocated funds for loft insulation inspections, aiming to phase out materials like Rockwool and fibreglass. Apparently, if we don’t take advantage of this inspection now, it could become compulsory next year, costing us somewhere between £200 and £300! This funding is only available for three months, and we're likely to hear about mandatory inspections over the festive period. The company appears to be legitimate, though I can’t confirm if it was indeed them on the line. Regardless, I plan to report this to the Telephone Preference Service to possibly clarify the situation. It's worth noting they promote spray foam insulation, which I have no interest in whatsoever, even if it meets the necessary standards.

I've received several relentless calls from a woman representing Quality Home Solutions, claiming there's a government initiative to fund loft insulation inspections. Apparently, they’re trying to phase out Rockwool and fibreglass insulation, and she insists that if we don’t jump on this inspection now, it’ll soon be compulsory and could cost us between £200 and £300 next year. According to her, there’s a pot of money that’s only available for the next three months, and we should brace ourselves for an announcement about the mandatory inspections over Christmas. While it appears that they might be a legitimate company (I can’t quite ascertain if it was actually them on the line), I'm planning to flag them with the TPS regardless, just to shed some light. The thing is, they promote spray foam, and honestly, I'm not keen on that option, even if it's deemed suitable.
