Got a robot voice telling me my card was charged £891 for a flight from Manchester to Mexico City, and then to press 1 to chat with someone. Ended the call straight away and blocked the number. If someone not paying attention got this call and did what it said, they’d probably lose all their money.

Got a call today from some firm saying they needed to cancel an appointment scheduled for today. They claimed they were from a company that does insulation recommendations and mentioned a roofing inspector would ring beforehand. They insisted they’d phoned me twice before, but I had my phone right next to me the whole time - I even took it with me into the bathroom while I was showering. Felt a bit iffy about it, so I tried calling the company back but couldn’t get through at all. It’s obvious this is a scam! Being older, these kinds of calls really worry me.

This funding is only available for three months, and we're likely to hear about mandatory inspections over the festive period. The company appears to be legitimate, though I can’t confirm if it was indeed them on the line. Regardless, I plan to report this to the Telephone Preference Service to possibly clarify the situation. It's worth noting they promote spray foam insulation, which I have no interest in whatsoever, even if it meets the necessary standards.
