Before she could elaborate further, I promptly terminated the call. Subsequently, I dialled 1582, the automated service which allows you to block unwanted numbers. I was presented with the option to blacklist this particular number, which I readily accepted by pressing one. It's now firmly blocked, and I'd strongly advise anyone else in a similar situation to do the same to avoid future nuisance calls.
