When I mentioned we were registered with the Telephone Preference Service, there was just a pause, and then - poof - the call ended abruptly.

Got a call around 9.15 and they left a full message on my answerphone, which is pretty odd since my greeting clearly says I don't take unsolicited calls. Usually, people listen till I say that and then just hang up 😂 After reading some of the comments here, decided to block the number.

When I finally spoke, the guy claimed he was an energy consultant from something called the Insulation Advice Line. I asked for a contact number for his firm, but he said he couldn’t give one. He was quite rude, kept interrupting me, and didn’t seem worried at all when I mentioned reporting him for breaching the TPS.

There was an awkward pause on the line for a good few seconds. I tend to keep mum when I pick up calls from numbers I don't recognise, just to suss out if it's a robotic telemarketer. I made it very clear that they were to remove our number from their records immediately, or I wouldn't hesitate to seek legal recourse. They graciously acknowledged my request.
