Today the caller didn't say a word. But just the day before, this guy claimed he was our local energy rep and that my daughter owned the place, even though we rent. When my daughter heard this, she hung up straight away and said it smelt like a scam. What bugs me is that my number's ex-directory, so how on earth did he get hold of it?

Got a call from someone really insistent who claimed they'd check my wall insulation for free, saying it might lead to damp or condensation issues. When I told him I wasn’t interested and wasn’t gonna pay for anything since everything’s fine, he just hung up on me. Proper waste of time.

Got a call earlier from some bloke called Dan pushing house insulation. Before I could get a word in edgeways, he was rattling off his sales pitch. I kept talking over him until I managed to mention my place is a council house. That seemed to shut him up quick - he just hung up straight away! I’m registered with the telephone preference service, so technically they weren’t supposed to ring me at all. Definitely felt like a dodgy sales scam.
