It's obviously a dodgy operation. Just pressing buttons like 1 or 2 could lead to charges being tacked onto your bill. BT will end up sending funds to these con artists, and you'll be the one footing the bill via your BT account. Truth be told, BT has the power to put a stop to these antics if they really wanted to, but let’s be frank - they profit from it too.

I wasn’t really sure about the info but this guy called asking if I knew I could get help with a medical alert. I tried cutting in a few times, kept asking if it was a recorded message since it sounded like it was a real person on the line. But he just carried on chatting, so I ended up hanging up on him. Honestly, it seems pretty risky getting mixed up in these kinds of scams.

Today, we got a call from this number, and a guy with a really polished voice told my husband he might qualify for financial help with medical issues. Then he asked him to press buttons to answer yes or no to a bunch of health questions. My husband was expecting a call from a physio about his sports injury, so at first he thought it was legit. Luckily, he soon realised something was off and ended the call.

I got a call from 01202 818921, which threw me off since it looked like a local number. I answered but quickly guessed it was dodgy. They were going on about some health condition funding, sounded fishy to me!

At first I thought it was some sort of automated message, but the moment I picked up, a well-spoken guy started talking about a '100% refundable' offer. I only managed to say "Hello," and didn’t catch the full deal as it sounded pretty unclear, maybe something about a health or security service for older people. I felt suspicious straight away, so when I was told to press buttons to answer a couple of questions to see if I qualified, I didn’t even wait for the first one and just hung up. It definitely gave me the vibe of a scam, so I’d be careful with it.

Got a call about health funding, saying they cover almost every condition for folks in the UK, especially older people like me (81 years old). It sounded like a scam since they wanted me to press some numbers on the phone. I usually don’t pick up any calls from unknown numbers. If it's really urgent, they can leave a voicemail and I’ll decide whether to call back. Calls like that should definitely be flagged as suspicious.

Only got the tail end of their message on my voicemail, but it sounded like one of those health alert scams. I recently received a rather dubious automated message claiming to be from a health services provider. The voice iterated something along the lines of: "Greetings! You’ve been selected for fully funded medical alert systems designed to assist you during health crises-systems that could potentially be life-saving! To determine if you qualify for this incredible funding opportunity, we simply need you to answer two quick queries. If you happen to have any health issues, whether it’s arthritis, mobility challenges, balance difficulties, heart or lung problems, or even sight or hearing impairments, kindly press ‘1’ on your phone keypad to indicate yes. However, if you find yourself in good health with no ailments, just press ‘2’ for no." It all felt a bit too fishy for my liking, and I’m quite sceptical about the legitimacy of such calls.

Indeed, it's certainly an unwelcome nuisance of a cold call, but I suspect it's more likely a dodgy scam. I've cut the conversation short and plan to report it.

The caller didn’t bother to introduce themselves and was attempting to peddle ‘Medical Alert’ systems by instructing me to hit a button on my phone to respond to a couple of questions. Interestingly enough, the very same person rang us the previous day from a number in Edinburgh, attempting to hawk insulation with the same spiel, but this time they wanted answers to a whopping 10 queries.

I've been inundated with nuisance medical calls lately. I tend to let their robotic spiel play out but steer clear of pressing any buttons. It seems there’s a whole array of these dodgy calls floating about at the moment; I've received three in just the past 48 hours! It’s baffling how BT claims they’re powerless to act against this lot, yet it’s clear they benefit financially from these scamming shenanigans!

another dodgy call! the answering machine picked up but the automated voice kept rambling, so we missed the beginning of what it was about. something about health stuff and asking if you’ve got any medical problems. then it went on with options like press 1 for yes, 2 for no, 3 if you’re not the sharpest tool, 4 if you believe everything you hear, and so on. we just ignored it and it ended on its own.

Didn’t pick up as I didn’t know the number 012028 18921. The call went straight to voicemail and there was a recorded message which sounded dodgy. They were asking about different health problems and disabilities and told you to press 1 if you had them, or press no if you didn’t. I received an automated call prompting me to press buttons about health concerns. It seems rather dubious and might be a ploy to elicit information from those dealing with the NHS's backlog of supposedly ‘non-urgent’ cases. Quite a tricky situation, as it could easily ensnare those who are more vulnerable.

This number has reached out to me thrice within two days, and each time it's been nothing but some sort of automated health nonsense. Not once do they clarify if they’re affiliated with the NHS or any governmental body. The moment you discern it’s yet another pre-recorded spiel, just hang up. Otherwise, you’ll find yourself stuck, waiting for ages to push a button to respond to their opening prompt. Utterly irritating and a complete waste of time, if you ask me!
