Got a message about a new gadget being linked to my Santander account, with a link to click if it’s not me. The text didn’t have much detail but seemed quite trustworthy, especially for anyone who uses online banking.

This number, 01202794902, keeps ringing me up nonstop trying to sell some medical alert button. They’re always after my personal info too, which I’m not happy about.

Pretty much like what others are saying. Got two calls from the guy. Tried telling him I already own a medical pendant, but he just kept chatting away, so I ended the call. Next day, he rang again and actually paid attention this time, saying sorry for wasting my time. Might not be a fraud, but it’s annoying since I’ve had this same call pop up a bunch before.

I received a rather curious call earlier - they asked if I was over 50 and when I replied in the affirmative, they mentioned something about a complimentary medical alert pendant. It felt rather like a sales pitch, if I'm honest.

Got a call from someone hinting I had health problems I wasn’t aware of, totally unexpected and probly a mistake.

Just got a call from someone pretending to be about a medical alert, total scam! Don't fall for it, they’re trying to trick you.

Whenever my answerphone picks up, the call just gets cut off like always. I've blocked the number, yet I've been getting calls again and again from different numbers with nearly the same area code and number sequence. It's really annoying!

Got a couple of calls with no voicemail left. Bit annoying, feels like it might be some sort of scam.

Hey mate! I got a call claiming they had my health info and said I might qualify for a medical pendant. They asked if I was over fifty. I said, "If you’ve got my medical records, you’d already know how old I am!" Then they just hung up on me!

Some bloke rang me saying he was from a medical alert service and said I was eligible for their assistance? Sounds fishy to me, so I’ve just blocked the number!

Like others have said, I got a call saying I qualified for a complimentary alert device. They asked if I needed a walking frame or stick. When I said I was familiar with medical alert systems, sometimes known as Sutton Buttons, the caller just hung up. To me, it sounds like a scam. Local councils usually offer these alarms, and they’re incredibly useful for older folks. My mum had one, and it actually helped her through a few emergencies. If you’re thinking about getting one, I’d suggest checking in with your doctor beforehand.

Some bloke called me, said his name was Alex. He claimed he got a list of older or vulnerable folks for some Medical Alert Centre to assist. When I asked where he got my number from, he just said “the manager”. I asked for the manager’s name and number, but he refused to give it. I then said if this was legit, he should know my name. He just said no. I told him I’d report him and ended the call.

Some bloke called me saying he was from a medical alert company, said it was only a £1 a day. Asked if I was over 50 to see if I could get it. When I asked why he was ringing me, he just hung up. Strange!

Got a call asking if I was over 50 and if I needed a walker, apparently they thought I might want a medical alert pendant! I must admit, turning 50 has been a bit of a sore spot for me, so this cheeky call gave me a good giggle. The lad on the phone was really polite too!

I received a recommendation for a medical alert pendant - apparently it’s for those over 50 who happen to use a walker. Blimey, turning 50 has been a bit of a sore spot for me, but this little message did tickle my funny bone! What a charming lad he was!

I was questioned about whether I was above 50 and if I required a cane or a walker. The fellow mentioned that should I take a tumble, I might be on the floor for hours. I pointed out that it was rather improbable since I didn’t usually find myself alone for long stretches. After that, he just wandered off.
