I got a robocall telling me my account was going to close and to press 1 to talk to someone. Even though I suspected it was dodgy, I pressed 1 anyway. The person on the other end quickly asked for my bank info, which I didn’t give. As soon as I started asking questions back, the call just dropped. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from someone called Micheal, saying something like "it looks like you're not on the best boiler cover." When I asked him how he knew which company I used, he just ended the call straight away.

Around 7 or 8 years back, I got curious and asked a firm in the Bournemouth/Poole region about solar panels. Since then, I've been getting constant calls from 01202 numbers pushing green energy offers and more recently, boiler cover. Even though I don’t live there anymore, the caller today insisted I wasn’t on the top plan at my previous place. I’ve heard that some of these companies go bust then reopen under different names. Total rip offs - stay well clear!

Got a call from some Michael claiming to be from Home Assist about boiler cover. When I answered, he wasn’t really interested in talking to me, just messing about and laughing with people in the background. Proper rude! Ended up just hanging up on him.

I’ve been getting calls from this number sporadically the past few weeks. My phone has a blocker and none of the calls left a voicemail, so I just ignored them. Today I answered because they said they were ‘Mick’. He claimed to be from HomeSense and said the warranty on my boiler was expiring soon, offering me a deal. He even knew my name, which is odd since I’m ex-directory. When I asked where they got my number from, he just carried on talking and wouldn’t answer. I ended the call pretty quick. Definitely a scam.

Got a woman ringing me up asking to verify my address, saying she’d sort me out a cheaper deal on my boiler cover. They already had my address, which was a bit creepy. Before she could go any further, I quickly told her I wasn’t interested in any boiler cover changes. Honestly, I use a local company that’s much cheaper than British Gas, so she had no clue about that. Definitely one of those dodgy scam calls!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Home Sense, and oddly enough they had my full name. They told me my gas boiler insurance was about to run out, but when I mentioned we already have British Gas, the caller just ended the call straight away. There was a lot of chatter in the background, seemed like it was from a call centre. I don’t understand how these scams keep going? This isn’t the first time it’s happened either, happened a few months back too.

The person said they were calling from Home Sense and mentioned something about discounted boiler cover. I got suspicious when they asked for my bank info. At first, it sounded pretty legit, so that was a bit worrying.

Received a ring from this number earlier, with the person claiming to be from some third party firm offering to switch me onto a cheaper boiler insurance deal. I told them I didn’t actually have insurance through them, but they insisted they were a third party and promised to send me info. I made it clear that my boiler and home insurance was handled by my bank, and asked them not to send anything or take any action until I’d double-checked with my bank. They just hung up on me.

Got a call around 11.25 today from a bloke saying he wanted to switch me to a cheaper plan for my boiler insurance. Typical call from someone with an Asian accent! They already had my name and where I live. Said our gas boiler was on some kind of pricey plan and tried to switch us to a cheaper one. When I asked how they got our info, they claimed it was from a comparison website. Problem is, A. We never use those sites. B. Our oil boiler is looked after by a brilliant local guy named Kevin. C. Good luck finding mains gas near our village - it’s not even available nearby! Definitely a scammer looking to grab bank info, using the cheap rate as bait. BLOCK THIS NUMBER for sure.
