Somebody called saying they worked for the housing repairs department.

They gave me my first name and part of my address, but as soon as I told them they had it wrong about who I am and where I live, they just hung up. The number’s now blocked from my phone.

The bloke was really dodgy about saying what he does, just kept repeating 'I’m Veet' and nothing else.

I chose not to pick up the phone when this number rang. After doing a bit of digging, I found that it’s been flagged repeatedly as a scam. I wasted no time and blocked it straight away. I highly advise others to do likewise!

I’ve received calls from this number, which promptly disconnects before you can even answer. It seems their tactic is to prompt you into returning the call, only for you to find yourself stuck on hold for ages, all the while being billed at a hefty 16 pence per minute. Pure sleaze, if you ask me!
