She asked if I owned the house, but before I said anything, I asked her to explain more about herself because it sounded a bit dodgy. She then just hung up on me. This chap presented himself as my neighbourhood energy consultant, even though he was stationed hundreds of miles away! When I expressed my unfamiliarity with his business, he abruptly hung up on me in a rather uncouth manner!

I had a guy ring me up claiming to be an energy advisor about some loft insulation thing. He said my house was gonna be one of the last ones checked in the neighbourhood. He kept pushing me for info, but I’m not a fan of strangers cold calling, so I just didn’t say much.

He never said his name but mentioned something about energy and asked me about the insulation in my loft. He gave me a reference number and told me to repeat it back - made me wonder if it was connected to some sort of voice recognition system? At no point did he ask for my name, address, or any other personal info. He only wanted to know if I was between 40 and 75, or over 75 years old. After I answered, he just hung up without any more questions or details.

Got a call from 'Chris, your energy advisor' but the number was from Bournemouth, which is a fair way from Liverpool. Seems like a call centre pitching home insulation services, and what's worse, they're ringing even though I'm on the telephone preference service list. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Some bloke called saying he needed to inspect my loft insulation for safety reasons. I was a bit unsure, but then he asked me to spell my last name out loud. I thought, if you called me, you should already know it. Then I asked where he got my number since it’s fairly new and even used to be my work one. He claimed it was from some survey, but I reckon it’s the “national loft survey” lot just trying a new angle. I just told him I wasn’t interested and ended the call.

I recently received a rather dubious call from what they claimed was my "local energy provider," informing me that my home was listed as having that outdated yellow fibreglass insulation. Quite the contrary! I’ve actually got a double layer of insulation in place, featuring the more modern material made from recycled plastic bottles. The moment I mentioned that, the call abruptly ended and I found the number blocked. How peculiar!
