Got a call from an 01202 code again, every time its a different number but clearly the same scam tryna trick people.

Just like all the others, really. It seems our residence has been marked as still having the 'outdated' loft insulation, and there are surveyors apparently prowling about in the vicinity. When I posed a question, he was reminiscent of a very chatty politician, going on and on without a pause for breath. After much persistence, I finally managed to interject and enquired about how anyone could possibly ascertain what sort of insulation we’ve got. His answer was that it came from the government’s 'renewable energy' division. Curious, I then asked which company he represented, to which he proclaimed it was the 'Green Eco Centre' based in South West London (a quick search revealed it to be a total fabrication 🤦‍♂️). He continued to drone on about how our insulation was old and possibly hazardous. I pointed out that we’ve lived here longer than he’s likely been alive and never once had someone inspect it. Undeterred, he pressed on about arranging a survey and then had the audacity to inquire about my age! I flatly replied that it was none of his business and reiterated my refusal to disclose it. He persisted, asking if I fell into the 50-80 age range or was over 80. I repeated my stance, making it clear I was not about to indulge him with that information. He claimed I must tell him in order to determine any grants we might qualify for. Finally, I asked how he obtained our number since we are ex-directory and registered with the Telephone Preference Service, but he dodged the question entirely. I pointed out that cold calling is illegal, to which he just went, 'uh huh,’ so I directly asked if he even realised what he was doing was against the law. At that, he suddenly wished me a 'lovely evening' and promptly hung up. A pity, really! I was quite enjoying the banter and amusing my family with the charade… 😂😂

I've been getting calls from the 01202 area code quite often these past few months. Since I don't know anyone in Bournemouth, I usually just ignore them. The number seems to change every now and then, but they never bother to leave any voicemail. I just wish they'd get the hint and take me off their list, especially as I'm registered with the TPS.

this guy chris keeps ringing me up about loft insulation, and i've already told him off and ended the call like 3 times!

Got a call from someone saying they were with the energy advice centre, telling me my loft insulation wasn’t good enough and offered a free survey. They mentioned something about spraying foam insulation inside the roof. Seemed fishy to me, so I just hung up straight away. Definitely felt like a scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with the driveway centre, they asked if I had a driveway. When I questioned the reason for asking, they just ended the call straight away.

Got a ring from a bloke named Chris about some loft insulation, number showed up as Mansfield Road in Bournemouth. When my missus said no to sharing any personal info, the caller just ended the call.

Got a call from someone in Bournemouth claiming to do an energy survey and talk about loft insulation. When I asked why he was ringing a number on the TPS list, he just hung up straight away. Proper daft!

I picked up and there was total silence, nobody said a word.

I’ve had a couple of calls lately. One bloke said he was a local energy consultant, and the other claimed to be from something called “the solar centre.” Both times the voice sounded pretty much the same, and on both calls the name Alex was given. Bit sus if you ask me.

I received a rather dubious call from a chap named Chris, purporting to be from 'The Green Eco Centre' based in London. He claimed they were providing complimentary assessments and reports on loft insulation, asserting it might be contributing to condensation issues. He mentioned he'd obtained my details from the Energy Performance Register, linking it to the Government, yet I’ve never undergone any Energy Performance assessment for this property. Furthermore, I’m signed up with the Telephone Preference Service! When I pressed him on the matter, he pivoted to promoting Spray Foam Insulation. I informed him that such an approach could harm the roof timbers, given the age of my property, and urged him to cease wasting my time. Following this, when I attempted to return the call to voice my complaint about this intrusive cold call, my first attempt was dismissed, while my second resulted in an automated response indicating I’d been contacted by 'Digital Marketing Services.' I was given the option to press 1 to avoid future disturbances, which I promptly did. I can't quite fathom the nature of this scam, but it’s evidently not on the up and up.

I received a call earlier today from someone named Chris, who claimed to be from our local energy provider. Just as the conversation was getting going, the call abruptly dropped. Curiosity got the better of me, so I looked up the area code and discovered it belonged to Bournemouth. Now, I wouldn't exactly consider that 'local' when I reside in Manchester!

Had a chap named Chris ring me up regarding loft insulation. The moment I enquired where he had sourced my number from-considering I'm registered with TPS and my details are ex-directory-he promptly hung up. There’s been quite a few grumbles about this fella; apparently he's also using the number 10202159284. It appears both of these numbers are linked to Mansfield Road in Bournemouth.
