I got no answer when they called, so I phoned back after about 15 mins but the line just cut off before I could get to the phone. Checked the number online and decided I’m not gonna answer my landline for a bit. Got a ring about some 'Government paid loft insulation' that I've never even had done. When they asked if I owned the house, I didn’t reply straight away but asked who he was instead. He just hung up on me. Total SCAM, trying some sneaky tactic to con innocent folks out of cash. These people are absolute scum and I genuinely hope they suffer badly.

We've been getting quite a few calls like this lately - always from the same polite bloke trying to convince us to get loft insulation. I explained that we had it done about 4 years ago when we refurbished the house. Today (30/9/2021), a similar number called, except it was 491 instead of 149. The caller said his name was TOM and wanted to check the insulation we already have to supposedly give us a certificate. I told him I’d speak to my husband when he got home and that, since the number was on our phone, we’d call back. Not a single word after that - he hung up straight away. There has to be some way to block these calls. We are registered with the TPS, but it clearly doesn’t seem to stop these types of calls at all.

Got a call from someone called "Chris" at 14:43 on 27 July 2021, claiming to be our area energy advisor. Told him we weren’t interested, that we’re on the TPS, and to stop bothering us. Then, guess what? “Chris” rings back at 09:27 on 30 August 2021 and tried the exact same spiel. Ridiculous!

Got a call from someone saying they were from Domestic & General about my boiler and heating cover. They claimed there was some issue with my policy and offered to sort it out to save me about a third on the price. Then they wanted me to grab a pen and paper to jot down their extension number. Thing is, I’ve never even had a boiler cover with them, so I’m pretty sure this was a con. I just ended the call straight away.
