Got a ring about some 'Government paid loft insulation' that I've never even had done. When they asked if I owned the house, I didn’t reply straight away but asked who he was instead. He just hung up on me. Total SCAM, trying some sneaky tactic to con innocent folks out of cash. These people are absolute scum and I genuinely hope they suffer badly.

The gentleman identified himself as TOM and claimed he wanted to assess the insulation we had installed, promising a certificate if everything checked out. I mentioned that I would discuss his call with my husband upon his return, and since we had the number displayed on our phone, we’d be in touch. The moment I said that, he hung up without uttering another word. Is there not some effective means to put an end to these persistent calls? I’m registered with the TPS, yet it seems utterly ineffective in these situations.

Had a chap named "Chris" ring us at 14:43 on the 27th of July, 2021. Claimed he was our nearby energy consultant. I informed him we had no interest in his services, were registered with the Telephone Preference Service, and suggested he be on his way. Then, wouldn’t you know it, "Chris" decided to try his luck again at 09:27 on the 30th of August that same year - rinse and repeat!

Got a call from someone saying they were from Domestic & General about my boiler and heating cover. They claimed there was some issue with my policy and offered to sort it out to save me about a third on the price. Then they wanted me to grab a pen and paper to jot down their extension number. Thing is, I’ve never even had a boiler cover with them, so I’m pretty sure this was a con. I just ended the call straight away.
