I've had these lot ringing me loads, claiming to be from some company trying to sell loft insulation. Got two calls from a bloke who said his name was "Michael" and claimed to be from "your local energy provider". He was pushing loft insulation and mentioned some kind of survey first. On the first call, he kinda assumed I was old and asked if I had the "yellow stuff" up in the loft. When I replied, a bit taken aback at how patronising he sounded, "do you mean rockwool??" he just hung up on me. Pretty clear he wasn’t expecting me to know about insulation stuff. Seems a bit dodgy, like he's trying to target elderly or gullible folks to scam them or make them pay for something dodgy.

I've received two unsolicited calls from a chap who introduced himself as "Michael from your local energy supplier". He was attempting to pitch loft insulation services along with a complimentary survey. He made some bold claims about how rockwool and fibreglass are obsolete these days, suggesting instead that foam insulation ought to be sprayed onto the underside of roof tiles. Then he had the audacity to inquire about my age - "Are you over 80? Over 50?" I promptly told him that was none of his concern. He then insinuated this information would impact my eligibility for grants. I replied that I had no knowledge of such a thing, at which point he rather rudely terminated the call. It seems clear to me that he’s on the hunt for easy targets - particularly the elderly and susceptible - to swindle or deceive in some way.
