I answered a call from a woman who was rambling about some suspicious activity on my Amazon account, mentioning something about £700 being taken off or something like that. It was really unsettling. I only made a tiny purchase on Amazon recently, so it didn’t add up. I’ve been told by Amazon before that they never ring customers directly. I live alone and I’m in my 80s, so it was quite scary and made me really anxious. I haven’t blocked any numbers because I don’t have the option with BT.

Hello, I'm Alex, an energy consultant. I've had it up to my eyeballs with this chap who’s been pestering me relentlessly today-ten times, no less! I've finally snapped and told him to take a hike in a rather colourful way, and urged them to remove me from their calling list. Been getting calls from this number and others starting with 012021 at different times throughout the day, so I just ignore them. They never leave any voicemail. The one time I did pick up a similar number, the person claimed to be an ‘energy advisor’, but I’m pretty sure it was a scam.

Today I got a call from this number. The person on the other end claimed to be Alex from Medic Alert. I asked why they were calling me and how they got my phone number, but instead of answering, they just kept saying they were from Medic Alert. When I asked again, they suddenly stopped talking. Really strange behaviour.

i've been getting calls from 01202 numbers for what feels like forever. i always ignore them but they just don't stop ringing. the last few digits change all the time, so i can't just block the number. i even contacted bt to see if they could block whole area codes, and i'd tell others to try that too. maybe these nuisances would get fed up if they had to constantly switch numbers!

Since I'm stuck self-isolating and working remotely, I rarely pick up my landline, but when I do, it's just spam after spam from various places. I've already had three calls like this today.
